For Gordon and Micheal.....
The green bar is your Reputation.......it never goes more than 11 little squares. You accrue rep points by getting Karma and also for the length of time you have been a member.......I think I have got that right...if not, there will be someone along soon to correct me.

Its just rep power, which builds up with the number of posts you make and and the green Karma you receive, if somebody gives you red Karma it deducted from your power, oh thanks Less

As green squares increased they were converted to 'cowpats' (gold stars), but they disappeared at an upgrade - so the green squares no longer reflect karma status.

The thing is I don't whinge, well certainly not about that, may have done at one time but unsigned Red Karma is like anonymous letters to the press useless

Obviously it isn't as useless as you claim, whoever gave it you, got a reaction from you. (Remind me never to go on a murder mystery weekend with you on my team).

So basically karma means diddly squat.

Don't lose sleep over it.

I've lost more than I've ever been given.

Which I see as a sign that I'm doing something right.

Another thing to note about karma.

The first time someone takes some karma off you, you're supposed to get all huffy, and start a thread moaning about how outrageous this is.

Everyone, being basically kind, gives you lots of comfort karma in return.

This only happens the first time someone starts blubbing about loss of karma though.
