Morning After Pill

Where could I go to get the morning after pill today? I know its Easter Sunday, but my friend desperately needs it and I don't know where to suggest. She has to get it today.

Does anybody know an open pharmacy that does it???

derekgas 23-03-2008 14:53

There are usually duty chemists advertised in local rag, but they are usually 2 hours, could be sruggling today I think.

You do realise that I am in Lancaster, so asking for places in Accrington would be absolutely useless.

As mentioned in 18+ I am also on cerazette and don't have sex, I am CELIBATE.

There is no ASDA in lancaster, I was just going off sunday times. Wasn't sure if they'd shut early for easter sunday.

I think she's going to go to A&E pam, is that Blackburn you're referring to?

Oh, poor thing .. what a predicament ... looks like A & E then .. sorry, thought some were open 'til 5 .. but sometimes the pharmacist has it's own hours too.

Don't know much about this pill .. obviously .. but think 72 hours may be OK .. but lessons the odds of success I think.

Let us know how she gets on .. always useful information for any future 'maids in trouble'.

Will let you know.

I've never taken it either but another friend has and she says it makes her sick for days :( doesn't sound very nice.

I went with another friend once to get it from the chemist on campus and they ask you load of questions to make sure you need it, like when your last period was etc to see whether it is realistic that you could be pregnant, which I think is very good, as there a lot of places that just dish it out. Means less money is wasted.

panther 23-03-2008 17:36

Re: Morning After Pill

As katex says, you can take the pill up to 3 days after the 'accident'.
so if it happened yesterday she will be fine until tuesday

the 3 day thing is not always the case ; i was told 3days ; so i waited till doc;s open monday mornin ; and i had a little boy 9month later; so id go a;e as soon as you can ;

Still could have been around to support her .. can't believe you are defending this guy. Only on the face of it of course, we don't really know the whole story. Anyway, glad sorted .. we women still appear to have to deal with it at the end of the day.

If she'd done it on her own then at least we'd know she'd done it off her own back. If he'd gone with her he'd probably have only gone to just make sure she went through with it.

I haven't spoken to her about it, I was just looking for somewhere for her to get it. None of my business now, nor none of yours, but yes, I hope she gets checked out for STI's too.

hey...dont tar us all with the same brush please...

I do everything possible to make things easier for my other half...from walking the dogs and getting the daily paper/fresh orange to hanging a nappy/baby wash out if weather permits, putting the dishwasher on (easy I know) and taking her brekkie in bed - every day - and thats before I go to work..

and when I get in its bath the wee one, have my daily 35 mins of play with him before its his bed time, have a wash and change of clothes for myself, make dinner for us, then sort out the washing and whats to be ironed, empty the bins, fill the dishwasher, tidy the kitchen etc... I normally start to chill out around 9.30 ish...after getting home at 6pm..I dont mind doing my bit at all as she has the wee one all day which will be stressful enough for her without having to worry about making dinners, doing washing, housework chores etc so if some things are done/prepared the night before/ or whenever by me then its sorted !
everyones happy..and I enjoy my bed !!

and at the weekends I often take him off for a walk to the park or somewhere for a morning or afternoon so she can go have some 'her time' playing on her horse..

sorry to hijack your thread blazey !

I know you were...:D

karma left for the proposal:D - its the second one I have had in my lifetime! - first one was from a woman who stalked me when I used to work in a shop in scotland...she proposed to me on the last leap year in the middle of the store...I obviously said no but she wouldnt leave me alone..had to call the police after 3 weeks of stalking...not funny having a bunny boiler..:(

mines used to wait for me when I finished work and drive behind me as I went for the bus, she also used to stand about in my work and tell folk she was going with me, she also used to stand and flash herself at me when the store was quiet and I was alone, scary stuff it was and I was single at the time and 23 years old...any normal single guy that age would have been like a tramp with a bag of chips with her as she was pretty too, but it was quite un - nerving for me and creepy into the bargain, she got barred from the store and would stand outside waiting for me...eventually my boss told me to ring the police...which I did and she was gone..:o

Not many like you about GG but nice to hear there are still some;)

How very true Bernadette. Some men are true gentlemen, and I'm luck enough to be married to one of them.

Not all men are liars!

Though maybe you have to be a lady to be married to a gentleman ;)

Just find statements like that abhorrent, you can't tar everyone with the same brush.
At the end of the day you need to live life a little before generalising!!!

Thank you Bernie, I know not all men are saints, but the older you get more you mellow, I always open the door for a lady, always walk on the outside, well for fifteen yards that is:D, always lift the toilet seat and put it down again, always gave my seat up on a crowded bus for a lady, and whats most important always said thank you afterwards;):D

Well it's her personal business isn't it? All I wanted to know was were should could go to get an item, not a big discussion about how rubbish her man is. What's it to do with me or anyone else what he or she is like? It's THEIR business.

Most men don't seem to want intelligent women here, seems to be a threat to their ego. I'll wait til I get home and find myself a nice working class boy instead haha

I like intelligent women. To be more accurate I hate thick women, I can't do with them at all.

Don't get excited though you can't have me, I like my women to have certain assets that you don't have ;)

Oh yes and I am married :D
