Re: is accyweb dying?

I love Accy web. I was in agony yesterday with toothache. I have no dentist but one quick visit to Accyweb and I knew what to do. 4 hours later I had the offending tooth removed, a temporary filling and was out of pain.
I haven't posted much lately because my mum died 7 weeks ago and I've been a bit upset. I've still been in here to read what my fellow members are up to though.

Talking of time pieces,

Two young lads in the playground one sporting a really fancy watch, his mate asks, "how did you get that?"
The reply was, "easy, just wait until your parents are starting to have sex, burst into the bedroom and announce that you want a watch, your Dad will promise you 'owt when he wants to get on with his pleasures".

So the lad goes home and waits for the chance, he hears a noise from the bedroom, he storms in and at the top of his voice shouts, "I wanna watch".

His dad in an annoyed voice replies, "O.K. then, pull up a chair, but don't make any noise".
:)

Gosh look, this stirring little thread is up to page 7 already, 'Ha! and the cynics say that accyweb is dying, they know nowt'.

:D

Re: is accyweb dying?

To be quite honest, when I joined Accy Web back in 2005 I didn't use it all that much, in the first 18 months I only made about 170 posts, then there was a glitch with my account, owing to me switching from dial up to broadband, and was unable to participate or twelve months, although I did regularly come on and just have a read, and on some occasions was mad because I couldn't join in. Since the problem was sorted need my daily fix of Accy Web the only thing that keeps me off is if I'm in doc or feeling very unwell at home. The thing about this site is you can converse with people all over the world, people who actually stated life here, people like Eric in Canada, SJ in USA Alan in Tasmania Sue in Cicily (who I had the pleasure of meeting only last week) plus I've met people who live here now, and of course its a lifeline for lots of people for lots of reasons, only this morning Bert wanted a book, he's found one, Accy Web is community in itself and long may it rain, I can only say I'm proud to be a very small part of it

I am a semi recluse for medical reasons, and admit that I have grown to prefer that way of life.

Accy Web is my way of having some form of social life and keeping informed of changes to the local scene.

If you feel like that about any posts please report them by clicking the red triangle on the left of the post and we will deal with the post

You can post what you like in the over 18's section. It was decided a long time ago that we would not have swearing on the main forum. Most people can express themselves without vulgar language so most of us don't see a problem with the rule.
