All the best A-B, never easy to do and it’s that that make it all the more rewarding when you succeed. I wish you peace and every success in your endevour. Willow I have seen your suggestion and have taken note, my apologies for repeating the very same suggestion elsewhere. :)

Different people have different opinions BOB but if it helps my friend has recently tried a hypnosis course, and she can't believe the effect it has had. She smoked 60 a day and says she has no cravings at the moment (3 weeks now) she also says she hasn't slept this well since she was a teenager, suffered badly with sleep problems. So that's her opinion if this helps BOB

My girlfriend used to smoke 20 a day, we were driving along in the car and the budget announcement came over the radio that fags were going to go up, she said "Right thats it, no more smoking", and she just stopped, that was in 1984, she hasn't smoked from that day to this, without the use of pills potions or patches, just good old will power! Good luck Bob!

Re: Smoking

I had it easy - after 10 years smoking I gave up due to pregnancy. Every time I even smelt a ciggie after I was two months pregnant I threw up, so I couldn't smoke even if I wanted to. I haven't smoked for two years now - except in my dreams!
I remember an advert with John Cleese in it (I think) who said to mix some cig ends with water in a jar and every time you feel like a fag open the jar and smell it. It really does knock you sick and might help you give up up.
Other than that - best of luck A-B!

Come on pixie, I know A-B wants to give up smoking but don't you think advising him to become pregnant is just a little bit extreme?

You should stay on topic you know, :) then you wouldn't have idiots asking you very personal question like this, pray tell what makes you smoke in your dreams? :o

Idiots...nah too easy Doug dear.;)
What I meant was that I have dreams where I quite literally just dream that I am smoking again. They are so realistic that I wake up feeling guilty as though I have had a cigarette and have to check my partners pack to see if I have been sleep smoking.

Oh god I've been there all too often. :( I can even smell it some times. It's a little unsettling sometimes because it can be so real.

Unsettling when you wake up, but great whilst you are asleep. All the pleasures of smoking without the side effects.

Just on a tangent I wonder if reformed drug addicts have similar dreams?
