I can remember my dear old Dad smoking Capstan Full strength and when it was announced in a budget that they were going up from 2 shillings and threepence to half a crown he vowed he would give up......he said that at every budget and never ever managed until about the last year of his life.......he was diagnosed with lung cancer and promptly went out and bought a pack of fags.

I thought it was a bl***y silly thing to do, but ah well.....he said he enjoyed it.....and as there was not much life left he might as well do what he wanted.

I remember an advert with John Cleese in it (I think) who said to mix some cig ends with water in a jar and every time you feel like a fag open the jar and smell it. It really does knock you sick and might help you give up up.

same ere, gave up when pregnant.... they knocked me sick:s_sick: had one when i had one to see if i missed it....blaaa, it was disgusting, now five years on, still no fag!! and dont even fancy one, and thats thanks to my son.

That happened to me when I was pregnant. I could'nt stand the taste or the smell and just gave up. I stopped smoking for 10 month's then 2 weeks after I had had him, the cravings just returned with force and I started again, the cravings came back like I had never even stopped.
