Lightbulb Venues for a Christening Do...

Hello All, Us again, Anyone suggest anywhere for a Christening Do,

I Have to think of the elderly in the family so no stairs please to function room and
preferably a jukebox so I can fill it with money and play some music, may seem cheap but I've never danced at a christening?
Not town centre beer prices
and
not looking like an absolute shed,
Oh and
won't look empty with 70 or less guests.

Ta!

Re: Venues for a Christening Do...

oh dear - I think you have us all stumped Not many places with no stairs (I believe Grants is nice but presume stairs (not been myself) and not many places with a jukebox these days.
Is money no object? I hired a jukebox for my hubby's birthday but it cost as much as, if not a little more, than a DJ.
Accrington golf club would look empty with only a few guests. GreenHaworth golf club has steps up to it (but maybe they've made disabled access since I went last - many years ago)
Ooooo - I know....Peel Park Pub. Lovely catering - I went to a funeral there about 6 months ago (not too expensive I believe) normal pub prices, quite central to accy (for people getting transport/taxis) disabled access round back for elderly/disabled and a lovely recently renovated room, and 70 would probably just about fill it!

If I was having a christening - I think that's where I would have it!
Job done me thinks ;-)

Totally agree with the Peel Park. Sue , the landlady does scrumptious food, there is a jukebox and the room is lovely. It'd be a FAB place for a Christening

2 places spring to mind though not sure about the juke box situation. Poplar Club is street level as is Accrington Stanley Clubhouse

Ossy Social club is very good, ground floor, reasonable beer prises, no room hire fee (except a returnable deposit) the only problem is, is finding a date that's free, you can also book the room for Saturday nights for Birthday parties etc.

Are you allowed outside catering in the Adelaide suite?
