Not being pedantic (according to Jay I'm not supposed to understand words like that), would it not be an odd coloured bird of the Turdus merula species.

It certainly wasn't one of these which was perched on top of a chimney in Exchange St.

Looks like a Peacock or Peahen JCB well with the head plumage anyway

Yes is was Jaysay . It woke me up one morning last year making a spooky noise . It may have been in distress . I managed to get a few photos , then it disappeared . At first sight I thought it was a vulture .

A Few years ago I used to come across one regularly up Green Haworth near the Shoulder of Mutton, think a bloke up there owned it
