good for a good wander around town in the dark - when do the lights switch on??

don't know when ours in Blackburn go on but someone mentioned sticky vicky (Diana Vickers) was turning them on

Blackburn Christmas Lights Switch On
Blackburn Christmas Lights Switch On 2010 will take place on Thursday 18th November from 6pm. Hosted by 97.4 Rock FM's Graeme and Jude the show will include music of all kinds and even an appearance from Diana Vickers. Late night shopping will also be available until 9pm in the Mall Blackburn. So come on down to King William Street, Blackburn on the 18th November to see the lights, stars and the brand new shops!

Accrington Christmas Lights Switch On
The Christmas countdown begins with Accrington’s Christmas Lights Switch On and Fireworks Spectacular! Come along and enjoy the biggest event of the year in Accrington as thousands of Christmas Lights are switched on and the sky is set ablaze with our Giant Aerial Firework Display above the Arndale Shopping Centre. This amazing annual spectacular kicks off the run up to Christmas and the start of late night shopping in the Town Centre. Be sure to arrive early to get a good vantage point! The fun starts at 6.30pm on Thursday 18 November outside the Town Hall with Accrington and Rossendale College Performing Arts Students. Special guests from this years panto - Cinderella, will be on hand to help make the night go with a bang. At approximately 7.00pm, The Gleek Club, the UK's Number 1 Glee tribute show, will take to the stage and perform the hit songs from the TV show including, Don't Stop Believing, Rehab, Somebody To Love, and Proud Love. At 7.30pm, the Christmas Lights will be switched on by The Mayor of Hyndburn, Councillor Mr Malcolm Pritchard with help from The Bee radio presenters, and The Gleek Club. Following the switch on at 7.40pm, the Giant Fireworks Display will set the sky alight. The event is being broadcast live on 107 The Bee radio station and we are expecting the crowds to be huge. Many shops will be staying open until 8.00pm so there will be plenty of time to do some Christmas Shopping.

i found it funny bburn couldnt afford fireworks but accy could.
