Re: time/tiny/granville computers to close down?

well i gave them a ring again this morning and they said i have to write a letter to Grant Thornton UK and they will let me know how much money i will get back!!!

I am really angry about this what do they mean they will see how much money i will get back I WANT ALL OF IT BACK!!!! £1399.00 is a very lot of money and we cant afford to lose it if anyone has any ideas of what i can do i would be really grateful as ive never been in this situation before and dont want to be here again.

Surly they have to give me my money back would that not be theft otherwise i made a purchase with them in good faith i have a receipt to prove i handed them the money and i bank statement to back me up but no goods.

If i took the tv from their shop that would be theft and then when caught i tell the police well im really sorry but i ran out of money would they then say oh ok then you keep the tv it don't matter! NO they would'nt i would go to court and then to prison.

So how can they do that to me?

Sorry for all that ranting and raving at you all.

So if anyone can offer any advice at all i would be very grateful.

i agree with you chav i dont really want my money back we want the tv but when i rang they said no we cant do that!! Hey and notice how nobody from tiny has contacted us to tell us what happened we have done all the ringing around.

I only knew about it thanks to this thread!! if i had'nt read this then i would still be sat there twiddling my thumbs waiting for my tv to come it isnt even due to be delivered for another 2-3 weeks by then it would have shut shop !!

Unfortunately I don't think there is anything you can do Mummiboo. The receivers have already said they won't be re-opening. You will have to follow teh procedure they specified and to be honest and I know it isn't what you want to hear but I doubt you will see much of the money back. usually first in line for any assets is the taxman. If there is anything left over then you may get an offer of certain pence in the pound.

This is too late for you but can I recommend to everyone when buying high value goods try and make sure you buy with a credit card. Even if you want to pay the cash onto the card first. Any pruchase over £100 is covered against many things, faulty goods, non delievry etc.

They should not have taken the order if they could not fulfill.

Sadly this happens a lot.

Usual suspects are sofa manufacturers that take orders right until the receivers are brought in, knowing that they won't be able to fulfill the order before they are liquidated.

How did you pay? This is were credit cards have the advantage over other methods of payement.

I'm really sorry for you, l'd be gutted as well.:(

thank god someone told us to pay by credit card ,and not debit ,,we have been waiting weeks now for a computer from them,,i always pay by debit card and as me and my son are joining at it we have the money ready...tiny soon took the money out so i would have been in the same boat as mummiboo.the bill is due from abby this week....
they told us not to pay it when it comes ,but we have to wait until august 6th,to give tiny chance to come up with the goods, they also had the cheek to take£200 for a five year fully comp guarantee,,knowing full well it wasent worth the paper it was written on
ITS SHAMEFUL

The owners knew they were going into liquidation over two weeks ago, treated their staff like crap to make them continue working and taking more money from customers

Sorry to hear that mummyboo!!!!!!!!!! what a gut wrencher............................
What you said about 'if you had nicked a t.v' is true, you would get done for it.
They shouldn't get away with this, it's awful that you pay soooo much money for something then don't get the goods.
