Re: time/tiny/granville computers to close down?

I know people who used to work for them a few years back - they used to screw people on the premium rate support desk and instead of fixing your PC, they tried to sell customers new products. I am glad that firms like this with terrible reputation/customer service do eventually go under. Good riddens!!

As for the fraud investigation there was more going out of the back door than the front!!

While what you say may be true Snow White.....it is of little consolation for those folks that have lost their hard earned cash for products they will never receive.....and with very little prospect of getting any recompense.

As someone who was very very lucky to have had the credit card company to fall back on!! I have every sympathy with people that got mugged by these people, who knew full well they were going under and could'nt care less about their customers who may never get their money back!!! As I say I was lucky it could have been me losing £800!!!

I have been at the receiving end of a company going under with no chance of getting any money back.

I was expecting a cheque for some £4,000 of commission for business that I had written, with another £9,000 in the pipeline - the company went bust and took my money with them.

Some of the business I was able to salvage, but I still lost a lot of money...

It's a case of get in line with all the other creditors, I'm afraid. And I am pretty sure that the Inland Revenue is one of them. Guess who is at the front of the queue?

The financial ombudsman look at individual cases if they say i get my money back it wont come from the company that part is over i am an unsecured creditor and have been told i will get nothing out of the company, the financial ombudsman have the power to get my money back from the card issuing company I wont have to get in line and wait with the other creditors that part has been delt with by the administraitors and they say i wont get anything from the company.

To be quite honest with you accymel i really dont know i really, really hope so. No i paid on debit card its like paying cash if i had paid on credit card i wouldnt have had a problem getting my money back from the credit card company, but like i said i paid on debit card which makes my situation almost useless!!

Well the bad news came today The Financial Ombudsman are not going to give us our money back!:(

They said "We don't see why the bank should pay you your money back".

Even though it was themselves who told us it was the bank we should complain about!! he said ho well im sorry but someone must have got their wires crossed and gave you the wrong information!:(

I feel physically sick now i know it is all final and there is nothing more i can so i have fought to the end and it still didnt get us anywhere!

Keep trying till you succeed! whoever came up with that motto wants shooting!

Very true Granny, unfortunately rather than being shot they are I believe re-opening under the name of Time uk, so not only has mummiboo, lost her hard earned money but she will no doubt be thrilled when they start advertising their 'reliable service', once more in the papers!!!
