I don't mind bonfire night itself - although I'm a nervous wreck with the kids playing with sparklers - but I hate the run up to it. Some idiots across from us have more money than sense and for the four weekends running up to it start setting off fireworks every Friday and Saturday when they return home from the pub.

I think the police should be entitled to go around and at the very least tell them to stop but I phoned the police and they said there was nothing they could do. I pointed out that if I'd pipped my car horn that late they'd have been able to have a quiet word with me so what was different about this? They did absolutely nothing and I'm dreading it happening again this year. I think it's selfish and inconsiderate. I have two small children and I'm not the only one in the area with kids.

where are you? they have been setting em off all summer round our way, paticularly at weekends,think it has todo with some of our mates getting married etc lollll

The people opposite me have more money than sense. Have you seen the cost of fireworks these days? For a good one it's at least £20. On a Fri and Sat before the night itself they must be spending in the region of £200 a night.
