I presume when the plans were passed it showed how many retail units were going to be incorporated in the Arndale centre, and I can understand from a business point of view that the owners now make more money in rent.

It just seems sad that the seating area and the clock had to be lost in order to make a cafe, when there are still so many empty properties within a couple of hundred yards.

The smoking policy of the cafe, in a smoke free zone still needs a logical explanation as well.

To be honest i dont know why the need a cafe ??? theres plenty of nice cafe's around - 2 in the indoor market, then u have your sandwich shops one in the Arndale, surely cant be boding well for them either. I think the Arndale is too small for it & its hard to move about at best of times - just wait on xmas rush.

I know we are to have new seats on Broadway, but unless I am wrong, they got rid of the seating area where the cafe now is and there was is only one bench outside Home and Bargain, in the whole of that part of the town centre,madness, and not very friendly for people who may need to sit.

Well i think thats what the cafe is marketing on although there must be some very desperate rich smokers to go there :wacko8: ....hey & im not one of them:D

Yeh theres one there & outside poundshop or there used to be one there & outside boots poor people have to squeeze just to rest their legs!!

I'm a smoker but wouldn't feel comfortable sitting there having a fag.

Like ive said i do respect smoke free zones & yeh that should be completely smoke free!! My x sis in law worked there for a very short time & it isn't very comfortable anyway its very squished up place to eat nevermind to smoke.

Why? You smoked plenty at the Stag. Little Emily is only just getting over the withdrawal symptoms from having nicotine polluted milk for days after the meeting.
