I can not stand dead animals. When our pet Hamster died I could not face the thought of picking it up even with a pair of gloves!

I picked up the cage, put it in the car and drove to the tip where I chucked it!

I think the hamster and the cage got buried pretty quick!:D

Just out of interest, is the creature a Dwarf or a Syrian hamster? If its the former, then it's dead: if its the latter, then it is possible it could be hibernating. You need to look at it for a good hour and look for signs of its little whiskas moving. If they don't move, then bin it and get another & say that after hibernation hamsters look a bit different than before.

Yep sounds reasonable to me. Just tell them that they regenerate like Doctor Who!:D

It could be hibernation. A lot of people bury live hamsters because of this. If it starts to stink and decay, you know it really is dead ! Ewwwwww

I used to have two Russian Dwarf Hamsters. What the chap in the pet shop told me was that they get on well together!

Apparently not!

I will put it this way!

We ended up with just one big one!

I suppose nothing really has to go to waste.

Re: Death In the family!!!!!

Very good point. Though if you get a few more you could use them as dippers! Make a good starter!
