10How hard it is to find a capable wife! She is worth far more than jewels! 11Her husband puts his confidence in her, and he will never be poor. 12As long as she lives, she does him good and never harm. 13She keeps herself busy making wool and linen cloth. 14She brings home food from out-of-the-way places, as merchant ships do. 15She gets up before daylight to prepare food for her family and to tell her servant women what to do. 16She looks at land and buys it, and with money she has earned she plants a vineyard. 17She is a hard worker, strong and industrious. 18She knows the value of everything she makes, and works late into the night. 19She spins her own thread and weaves her own cloth. 20She is generous to the poor and needy. 21She doesn't worry when it snows, because her family has warm clothing. 22She makes bedspreads and wears clothes of fine purple linen. 23Her husband is well known, one of the leading citizens. 24She makes clothes and belts, and sells them to merchants. 25She is strong and respected and not afraid of the future. 26She speaks with a gentle wisdom. 27She is always busy and looks after her family's needs. 28Her children show their appreciation, and her husband praises her. 29He says, “Many women are good wives, but you are the best of them all.” 30Charm is deceptive and beauty disappears, but a woman who honours the Lord should be praised. 31Give her credit for all she does. She deserves the respect of everyone. God bless her. |

Just to remind you this is what I asked . You said : " We are COMMANDED to tell the gospel. Nothing further is required of us. " Are the two separate statements you have just mentioned 1. We are COMMANDED to tell the gospel. 2. Nothing further is required of us. ? If so which Bible are you using ? Are you serious that Jesus commanded his followers just to tell the Gospel and made no other commands because nothing further is required of them ? |
Re: Christian Science
I have issue with number 23.
Whilst you may be well know, on here at any case, its strikes me as a bit egotistical. Here is an idea, why don't you answer a question with a straightforward answer? |

I'll see in the morning if you have shown the courtesy to answer simple questions . |

Me too, for some reason. And the vineyard thing cofuses me ... whatever.;) But the list does contain stuff that reminds me of my gran, Sally Ashton ... she was the wife of the guy who is my avatar ... Worked in a munitions factory in WWl, worked in the mills, and took care of my grandad who was wounded and gassed at Passchendaele ... a gradely woman:theband: You're probably into religious music. Here's her favorite hymn: St Paul Cathedral Choir - Abide with me - YouTube Anyway Kevin, glad to hear you have a good marriage. Oh, by the way, don't give the credit to God. And another thing, you are still wrong. The Bible, whatever it might be, is not the word of God. |
Re: Christian Science
Just popped in again - checked that he was still around, read the latest epistle No. 527 posting - most of which didn't make sense, think confusion is in abundance - someone getting mixed up with fantasy and the real world. So many utterances that could be challenged but to be quite honest, I just can't be bothered.

Re: Christian Science
K9 have you read the quoran to compare the similarities to the bible? There is a English translated version on Google play books for free. Of course I wasn't that interested just wanted to do a search of it for the "virgins reward" Of course it wasn't there. Much to the belief of certain members here.

Re: Christian Science
The tolerance peddlers are exposed as frauds when you consider that they simply will not practice what they preach—at least toward those annoyingly stubborn Christians. They are absolutely unwilling to “tolerate” the Christian premise that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. For them to acknowledge this would necessarily refute their concept of tolerance, which holds that all ideas are of equal merit. In their infinite resourcefulness, they carve out an exception to their demand for universal tolerance when it comes to their treatment of Christians.
To them, Christianity’s exclusive truth claims are simply beyond the pale—so bad as to disqualify Christians from receiving tolerance from others. One secularist university administrator, for instance, disciplined a conservative professor for exposing her class to literature from a Christian viewpoint, which included an article about how teachers should approach homosexuality. The administrator exclaimed, “We cannot tolerate the intolerable.” You see, it’s fairly easy for these types to extricate themselves from their indefensible positions. They simply move the goalposts. Talk about defining truth through power! |
