Cyfer you say that you would walk past Peter Britcliffe in the street because you don't know what he looks like. Don't you read the local press? He's pictured in the Observer and the Telegraph more than Chantelle is in the Sun!

Last week he was pictured in the same local press saying that he wants HBC to embrace modern technologies. What better way than to join a local internet forum which people read and use, rather than that expensive lame duck Hyndburn Life?

As for not joining because people have already decided who and what they believe in, he would do well to take a leaf out of Gayle's book. Before she joined, because of the Pantopican, she was the devil incarnate in many people's eyes. Through being open and honest on here people saw her in a different light. Though they might not like her politics, a lot of people then decided she wasn't all that bad and like her a lot, as can be seen by the people of differing political persuasions who defend her against attacks both here and in the press.

If Peter Britcliffe was being honest about embracing modern technology what better way to show the people of the Borough he is leader of than to join Accy Web, just like the leader of the Labour councillors has and our MP Greg Pope? Unless it was all spin to get his picture in the paper yet again.;)

Well how many active users are there on this forum? Theres like 3700members, but a lot less are active. It's hardly 'showing the people of the Borough' when only a small percentage actualy use the site, and no I don't really read local press that often, I generaly read the national press..

But anyway at the end of the day as i've said before, I would like him to come here, but i've explained why I wouldn't if I was in his shoes... and thats the last im going to say on the matter :p

Maybe we would have more active members if they thought they could access the Leader of the Council to answer questions and discussions

Everyone can send him letters or whatever, but they don't... so I really don't see how that would make a difference to be honest

If the only reason people don't ask him questions is because of a stamp and envelope, then i'd hazard a guess at the issue not being all that important.
