Alton Towers : MUSLIMS ONLY

Does anyone else think this is outreagous?
Alton Towers are holding a MUSLIMS ONLY
day on the 17th September. Only Muslims
will be able to purchase tickets! None-
Muslims will be refused tickets and access
to the park!

Its ridiculous! Could you imagine the uproar
if they were to hold a Christians Only day?!

Oh.. talking of Alton Towers, there was an
accident there today. 29 people were injured.

u people make me laugh... basically its this - a muslim organisation has booked out the whole resort simple as - any major org could do it - gay lesbian org book out disney land once a year... and its not muslims only - thats just hype the papers have put out...

basically its no alcohol and no gambling machines day - all the food served there will be halal. if u go to the site of the organisation they do say non muslims are more than welcome to buy tickets for the day but will have to adhere to those rules.

would you people get offended the same if it was a tory's only day out at alton towers or a twins only day at chessington?

as for the christian only day - the church of england or any other christian organisation is more than welcome to book any resort and allow church members only to attend.

Read this myself somewhere, but can't remember where and sure there was something about the restriction for women on the rides :confused:

Not sure if it offends me or not, don't see the differnce between this and maybe if the Labour party booked it for one of their Conferences or Posh and Becks for Brooklyn's birthday party. Just a private hiring that's all.

So in other words.. for this event Alton Towers ARE restricting their facilities to none members of this religion.

Yet.. would it go down well if a Christian association booked a major attraction for the day at Pakistan? And all none Christians were unable to attend? I think not..

no, your denied access because a group have booked it, that group happens to be muslims, which in my opinion is not doing themselves any favours. That said though if they are willing to let nonn muslims go on that day as long as they abide by their rules for their day that they have payed for then thats fair and also very brave of them .
The fault is with alton towers, they shouldn't be letting any religeous group book it, in fact they shouldn't be letting any group at all book it, it's supposed to be open to the public, they advertise to the public. Whats about all the disapointed and upset kids that will be turning up. They should be open to the public or booked events only, not close just because they've lucky ebough to get a private booking.
Also whats about people who have already prebooked day tickets or the hotel, there's bound to have been some.

This story came to light because a couple had booked this venue for their wedding reception........they were not told that the park had been booked for the whole Day by the Muslim group, they found out by accident and were upset about it. The administration of Alton Towers told them that they could still go ahead with the reception, but that there would be no alcohol, no gambling and the rides would be segregated. as it is not permissable for males and females to go on the rides together.
I'm not sure what the couple decided to do about their reception.

I think it’s a good idea. If accyweb had enough interest in doing something similar we could perhaps book it for the day our selves and raise some funds for the site. All tickets for members and friends would have to be bought through accyweb at a slightly higher charge . We certainly have the members to do it. hehe

The only reason a fuss has been caused is because it is a religous group.
It wouldn't matter who booked it, those people still wouldn't be able to have their reception there. It's booked, alton towers have let someone book it for the day.

Alton Towers is a business not a State run industry. They chose to hire it out to this organisation. Blame them, not this group.

If you relied on other sources, other than the Sun, you would have known that infact this story has been about for weeks. It first came to light when a large wedding party (Christian) found they'd booked on the same day as the Muslim social group. A group who were apparently told they had exclusive access to the park that day, which they don't, and that the park would be run to their guidelines. Alton Towers ballsed up.

Why don't you organise a Tory Boy's day there? You can chose to do anything you want. Wear bow-ties, dress up as Thatcher, suck a blue dummy, whatever.

Inform me and I'll know to stay away that day.

alton towers last i checked was a private company i think it was bought out recently but again privatly - and the sole point of a private company is to make a profit

if they feel they can make money by leasing it out to a group fair do's to them. when conference centre's get booked out for far far more contraversial meetings - no one bats an eyelid.

Guess what else? The British Naturalist Association have booked Alton Towers for their own exclusive use on a weekend in November!

I think this is absolutely outrageous and an affront to our British way of life. How dare these degenerates parade themselves in this fashion, while excluding ordinary, God-fearing English families. Their alien culture is in danger of swamping our Christian society and making us clothes wearers second-class citizens in our own country.

I really don't see any problem with this. If an organistion wants to hire this venue for the day, at the normal commercial rate,then so be it; it is up to them what admission criteria to have. My understanding is that no alcoholic drinks will be available, all will be welcome but women will have to be modestly dressed.

I wonder if Hyndburn Council have ever considered hiring out, say Oakhill Park for the day, for a community festival? I think the word is Mele...anyway, I'm sure the commercial rate for doing so would be about 5-10 thousand pounds. Everyone could have a good time, the organisers could charge a small fee to cover costs and public funds would see a net gain.Good idea or what?

What I don't understand is this quote,

What exactly do the objectors want, though? Do they want the government to pass a law so that owners of commerical venues are not allowed to hire them out to private organisations? Think you might see quite a lot of these venues going bankrupt if you did that!

I really don't see what's the harm in a muslim group hiring Alton Towers for the day. Personally, you wouldn't get me within a million miles of any venue with no booze and modestly dressed women, but each to his own! :)

So do I. Amazing, isn't it? For years and years, holiday camps have been having weekends exclusively for special interest groups - Rock 'n' Roll, Northern Soul etc, and there haven't been any objections from the gutter press or from anyone on this site.

If this was funded with public money, I'd be the first to object, but it isn't - it's a private organisation who've hired the venue. And, as someone has already said, if it was practically any other organisation, we wouldn't hear a peep out of you lot.

I object to it because alton towers are now going to be closing the park on god knows how many days a year because they can make more money by doing so. Not illegal but not exactly fair for the people who just turn up. Not going to make alton towers look good is it. Shall we go to alton towers darling with the kids, yes but we better check it's not booked first love. ok i'll just sit on the phone for an hour on an 0870 number trying to get through to check.
It's either a theme park open to the public or it's a theme park for private bookings.swapping and changing will cause havok.

I hope drayton manor don't start all this rubbish.
Infact hope alton towers carry on, drayton manor will become britains premier theme park :)

Not true. Many organisations book a holiday camp for the whole weekend, lock, stock and barrel. All the entertainment venues are taken over by their sort of music and all the chalets are booked by people who are coming along for the music. Obviously, anyone can book in, but if you don't like Northern Soul, Rockabilly or whatever, you're going to feel a bit out of it. As for Alton Towers, they're a private company, they can hire the park out to whoever they want. And I still maintain that if, say, a Roman Catholic organisation had hired it for a day, there wouldn't be all this outrage you're seeing on here.

No morgan_brotherz you are being denied access to Alton Towers on a particular day because the whole theme park has been booked for that day by a bona fide organisation.

Anyone could book a day at AT via the Islamic Leisure but they would have to abide by the laws of Islam. That is no booze, no smoking and only Halal food. Muslim dress code for women would apply but that does not mean a western woman would have to wear the hijab or jilbab if other Muslim women did not wear them. As I understand it Islam does not insist on strict apparel and leaves the choice to the man of the family what the women should wear. That in itself is abhorrent to westerners but if the women agree then they agree and that is that. However non Muslim women would have to dress in a manner that does not flout their sexuality.

What gets up my nose in this affair is that a couple had planned a wedding day at Alton Towers and had booked the facilities but were told their booking was cancelled because the park had been booked by an organisation.

So apart from the cancelled wedding this is all a storm in a teacup.

The really scary thing about this is that there are enough Muslims to be able to book a theme park for a day.

The Islamic nation is unwilling or unable to take over this country by force so they are doing it by stealth by out breeding the incumbents – us. By congregating in the same ward/s they can legitimately put forward a councillor. Many Muslim ladies have jobs in the Town Hall, Tax Office, Social Services and other government departments. Just look at the number of immigrants attending Blackburn College or even our schools. The last time that I was a guest of the NHS it seemed to me that there were more immigrant patients than British born, especially in maternity.

As their numbers grow they will need somewhere to live and slowly but surely we will get pushed out of our birthright. Pushed is too strong a word – we will leave is a better phrase. It is only a matter of time before Blackburn, Accrington and surrounding district is predominantly Muslim and when that happens there will be more Muslim councillors until they dominate the Council. Those English citizens who have stayed put will end up in the minority.

It’s not just in this area but in other areas in England and also abroad.

Some people will probably consider my comments as racist but it is just an observation what is happening and the likely outcome over time.

My grandad was polish, I have a polish name, I look english, I was born here. My uncle also has a polish name, doesn't look english and was born here. Infact he looks asian to a lot of people with his dark skin.

A lot of this is punishing people for descision that others have taken and they are just taking advantage of. If this group can book it, why blame them for doing so. As len said if we had enough willing members we could book it.

As I said earlier it was Alton Towers admin who cocked up.

The Muslim group were initially told they had the exclusive run of the place, which didn't come to light until the wedding party were told they could come on the same date but would need to abide by Islamic rules.

It is not a theory mani but a fact. Every Muslim is honour bound to further the cause of Islam until the whole world is Muslim. Many do not take an active part in that philosophy and only pay lip service to it. But they don’t oppose it. When it comes to the crunch they do what their religious leaders tell them to do.

30 years ago there wasn’t a mosque in Blackburn. Now they are in abundance. 30 years ago there were only a handful of Muslim families. Now there are tens of thousands in Blackburn alone. Many are second generation English born Muslims.

The Jews already rule the world by proxy if you accept that the USA is top dog at the moment.

If you want to have a blinkered outlook mani that’s your choice.

Laugh all you like Bazf because in 30 or 40 years time you will have nothing to laugh about. It is highly unlikely that I will be around then and if perchance I am I doubt if I will be interested.

maybe there's so many mosques now in blackburn is due to the fact that the uk govt asked members of their commonwealth to come to the uk and give them a hand wiht such work as existed in blackburn back in that time

maybe thats the reason - not sure goin on a edge here but maybe?

as for muslims doin what their leaders tell them - u tell it to those muslims out and about boozing on a friday night and have never been inside a mosque

I cannot believe the absolute carp that has been going on since Roy has been busy, what has happened to the moderators? At one stage such drivel as this thread would have been jumped on and removed, not because of race or prejudice but common sense.

All of you please, please, take a look at what is being discussed here and bow your heads in shame.

accyweb was created to bring people together not drive a knife between your neighbours ribs!

If you feel you're hatred needs to be exposed then please find somewhere else, that is not what this site is for.

This site is for expats and locals to share what they have in common not be driven apart.

If Christians, Muslims, Jews, Mormons, etc, can't live together anywhere else let's group together and in one voice say accyweb is for those of us that do want to make a difference, this is our town our little piece of England we want it to work not be pulled apart by such a stupid thread that just seems to feed the hatred and petty Prejudice of small minded people.

I have never been to Alton Towers It's not my scene if someone else is prepared to pay a stupidly expensive price to hire it for a day allow them that, it's their choice.

How about just getting on with your own life, making it fit in with others without causing any harm or inconvenience to someone that may one day given the chance you could call 'my friend'?

The media makes much out of stories like this. In fact, they almost seem to report such things with gleeful malice. Folk get hold of the wrong end of the stick and hey presto - racial disharmony.

It is just sad that the administration of the theme park let the wedding couple down by not notifying them of the booking by the religious group....if they had done this, then the story wouldn't have been anywhere near as widely reported.

I personally find this thread offensive. However I don't want it deleted or the person who started it banned. I was able, along with a majority of others, to offer an alternate views to that of the person that started it.

Len you have been here as long if not longer than I have, there is drivel and there is drivel, so far as the drivel I used to complain about being removed it could be given a gold star by the primary school teacher, but this muck shouldn't even be spread on a field, it does nothing but kill the whole crop, yes I was back in those heady days of a decent accyweb one of the first to complain however you and the other mod's would maintain the standards, now though, slowly but surely your grip (no doubt without noticing) is slipping and the lunatics are gradually taking over the asylum, might I suggest you take a trip down memory lane and look at what you would and would not tolerate and compare that to today? Then once you realise that we all have allowed standards to fall we can start making accyweb what it used to be and not allow it to stay what it has become?

On a personal note I thank you for reminding me that I used to be one of the rebels.
