well its quite possible we were mates for a while,knew 2 brothers,;)

Hello Beechy, can't remember yr first name (age....lol) but I was the youngest member of that family next door, Mick, used to mate roung with your Leb

Bleedin' great years them round laneside !!!! - they talk about great Bonfire Nights now eh, but nothin today comes near to the bonfires at the back of our houses eh ??

Yep I loved going Chaigly Manor too... superb fun and lots of mischief to be had

It was really creepy actually but our room all saw a lady and young boy walk through, then in the morning when we reported it, the other dorms had all reported the same thing. I've seen several things since this experience and it freaks me out every time, my other half thinks I just have an over active imagination but I'm wide awake every time and it happens when I least expect it:eek:

yep used to go to the one on the Donkey Field,lol always had a "Den" in the middle to guard the wood.;)

Yes i went there with my brother when we was at school he thowt it was good but i found it naff so i never whent again.

that was the same with many kids, a love/hate thing lol, but the original concept of chaigly was to give kids whose parents couldnt afford to take em. a holiday so on that basis alone it stands as a great place for kids.;)

i also remember another venue for under privaliged kids
a village in north wales DYSERTH its kept my love of
north wales ever since
it was a big holiday camp type of
place wooden huts and straw matresses

What used to p**s me of was that all my friends used to go there and yours truly had to stop at home, why because they used to send bed wetters home.:mad:

Tis I, yep remember you Stuart, think I once babysat for you when you lived off Cotton St, I think....

You would remember more George, Vinny (sadly no longer with us) Brenda, Marilyn, David - I was at the younger end and obviously me old Dad

Thats when it was a pleasure to be growing up !!! no playstations etc but plenty of good old fashioned outdoor fun (and some mischief every now and then)

good days

laneside always had the best ones

40, Jeez I am gettin old...lol.....

Mum - yea wish I'd'a known her but have no memories of her, being 1 when she passed. Dorothy lives in Nottingham

Still - th'owd father did a fine job bringin us lot up and still worked too
