Hey Red, thanks for "coming out" about your Yorkshire roots! Another LancYork Accywebber. I'll let the Lanc. folks digest your Yorkshire thread. Then I could direct them to the Bradford website!

For now, here's a website for Ashton-Under-Lyne. The childhood home of me Grandfather: Ashton under Lyne, Tameside, Greater Manchester - Welcome to Ashton-under-Lyne .com

There's not much point in putting on any piccy's of Wapping, because it's just like Church. There is a river, a canal and a bloody great print works. There are more traffic lights in Church, but more cobble stones in Wapping - as one member of the Accy Web found to her cost. Oh, the beer is more expensive down here - but you can at least get a pint of real ale, which you can't in Church, since the Stag shut.

I've never been to Georgia, but have read lots of books set there, and I'd love to visit Savannah. Where abouts do you live in Georgia?

By the way Immanuel is still a place of burials, and is one of the few remaining places where you can purchase a plot with great views over the moors.

I believe you'd enjoy it. I'm situated on a woodsy piece of heaven with Lake Lanier on my doorstep. About three miles outside of a small town called Buford. Buford, Georgia History and Genealogy- Gwinnett County GAGenWeb USGenWeb Project It's become quite an art mecca, so right up your alley.

Not just your's, but all the links I find fascinating.:)

I always in my mind's eye pictured you in a house like Mrs Madrigal's from Tales of the City. Now I know you'll be more likely to be polishing your sherrif's badge.

Yih ha.:D

. As of November 2006, Oakland had 132 murders, with the majority of victims and/or murderers from an African American background and the average age being 28 years old. [14] The murder rate increased 21% from only 94 murders in 2005, compared to 88 murders in 2004 being the lowest number down from 108 killings in 2003. The past few years into the millennium saw the lowest amount of murders, compared to the 1990's when there were known to be an average of 160 murders in Oakland each year.[15] The majority of the crimes being committed occur in the East and West parts of the city.

maybe you only visited the nice parts , we had one more last night a 15yr old lad , it's an epidemic ,populationwise we are losing more people per head of population than Baghdad or Kabul and the Govt don't give a shi*
