Balham's nice.

I'm a proud northerner, but was definitely a sarf Lhandaner.

I used to break out in hives, if visiting friends who lived where the postcode started with an N, or an E.

Artfully, and beautifully planted, by my own fair hands.

chichi - definition of chichi by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia.

Having that mini-green house as a child, paid dividends much later in life.

Thought it was about time to throw these into the mix...

Local History | MORECAMBE

Morecambe & the Coast

Morecambe may not be everyone's cup of tea but it suits us and we have to be here for my partner's job so...

It suffers from the same sort of problems as Accy but for different reasons, and from being an add-on to Lancaster which is where all the funding goes.

Still we do have the most glorious sunsets and the view across the bay to the Lakeland mountains - which you can see from our house.

For a fab picture look at the avatar for Morecambe expat which shows the Yacht Club HQ on the prom... just round the corner from us.

Of course anyone looking at the view from the back of our house might say that we overlooked the dead centre of Morecambe...

Sorry couldn't resist putting the cat in - just for you Di!

She was Millie, died a few weeks ago at 17. Had a bad start in life, we got her at a year old, already a mum but still the size of a kitten. Very untrusting of people and quite difficult to love, but we persevered. To the end of her life she would run and hide if anyone came to the door.

Osnabrück - twinned with Derby (Just down the road from where we are now in Bramsche) Where I spent many a year & we still visit regularly for meals, evenings out & visiting friends.

Having been to Derby, and not being very impressed, I think the people of Derby definitely get the better deal, when it comes to going somewhere nice on twinning visits.

Know it well.

My grandparents moved there in 1973, and my aunt and her family lived at Bolton-le-Sands.

Must have some of the most beautiful sunsets, anywhere in the world.

I'll admit a certain prejudice, as I didn't want my grandparents to move away.

The potted shrimps are good though.

:D
