Tragic House Fire In Accrington
Five members of the same family have died in a house fire in Lancashire.
The bodies of a woman and four children, aged between one and 14 years old, were found by firefighters at a house in Accrington in the early hours. A man was rescued from the house in Tremellen Street at about 0200 GMT and was taken to hospital suffering from serious burns. The house has been sealed off and a police investigation is under way into the cause of the blaze. The name of the dead family has not been released until next of kin have been informed. |
Re: Tragic House Fire In Accrington
Just heard it on teh radio as I drove in, my thoughts go to the relatives of the family, Sky News are quoting it as suspicious

Re: Tragic House Fire In Accrington
I just heard it on the radio. My immediate thought was that it could have been caused by Hallowe'en pumpkin candles. (We had candles here last night and a pumpkin in the window.) Tragic as an accident but absolutely shocking and unbelievably horrible if this was done deliberately. :(

Such tragic news. Condolences to the family and also to the fire services involved. To loose so many lives last night must seem like they have the most harrowing of jobs this morning. :(
|
Re: Tragic House Fire In Accrington
I think it's standard police procedure to treat any serious fire as suspicious until proved otherwise. They do that to protect the scene.
|
Re: Tragic House Fire In Accrington
Its tragic, and to make matters worse they say that the little boy who suvived is terminally ill with cancer,,and the father is criticaly ill

Police hace confirmed family as the one of the ASFC site.
Father in Whyensaw (South Manchester) Cause of fire is the use of Flammable materials but NO sign of forced entry and they think that the person who started fire was still IN the house..... |
Re: Tragic House Fire In Accrington
My condolensces to the family at this sad and shocking time. A truly terrible thing to happen.. :(
|
Re: Tragic House Fire In Accrington
just been comfirmed on sky news that it is now being classed as a MURDER enquiry..as evidence of excelerants have been found in numerous locations within the house ... they are saying that it looks as though it has been STAGED to look like arson but there are no signs of any forced entry ...
i've drawn my own conclusions from that ..but will refrain from posting them as its still a delicate subject ..no matter what |

Re: Tragic House Fire In Accrington
folks please do not post any speculation on here!!! Rumours are unhelpful and can predudice any further inquiry.
even posts on Accy web can be looked at in a murder inquiry!! |
Re: Tragic House Fire In Accrington
I knew the lady quite well and it is a terribly sad event for family and friends and as has already been posted, for the community as she was a very valuable member of the community and worked very hard to promote harmony.
I agree with Stanerlee, please don't speculate as to the causes on here as it is being investigated by the police at this stage. |

Re: Tragic House Fire In Accrington
Indeed, we should at this stage refrain from making further comments other than messages of sympathy. Any theories that people may have should not really be posted on here but kept privately and if you have any evidence relating to this incident you should report directly to the police. Anything else on here may only serve to lead to wasting police time in their enquiries and in complicating the due legal process.

Re: Tragic House Fire In Accrington
My daughters knew the older girls as they went to the same school and one was in the same class as Em. She says it seems worse somehow when it's someone she knows and was only talking to a few days ago before half term. :(

There is a lot of speculation about, even that of his personal and marital life are under scrutiny. The son has lost all that is dear to him and now the speculation inuendo and gerneral alleyway gossip has started. Ok questions have to be asked but at leastget the burials over with first.

Re: Tragic House Fire In Accrington
While we can all feel remorse and sympathy for the tragic deaths of this poor family please let us not forget the son who has been left behind and how the media are portraying that since the father died this morning that there maybe a likelyhood of murder here .
I am sorry if I sound callous here but if there is any truth in this then a lovely woman and her children have been murdered ,but for whatever reason ,then that cannot ever be justified .There is a child who is left behind who has to try and piece together his life and ask questions . why ,why and why .. Please forgive me if i sound like i am jumping ahead ,but im sure that that all these questions are going to be up for disscussion fairly soon |

Re: Tragic House Fire In Accrington
The first fire crew on the scene was the crew we are due to lose if the Fire Service get thier way. They were there within four minutes despite being retained. The second crew came from Great Harwood, who are also due to lose a crew. This is a tragic incident but I am worried it could happen again if we do in fact lose all this fire cover.
|
Re: Tragic House Fire In Accrington
This is something Greg Pope mentioned recently and I think it's valid to bring up the subject with him and have him bring it up at Westminster. This family could not be saved but how many others will be put at risk by losing these crews?
Sorry for the thread wandering but hopefully it's relevant. |

Re: Tragic House Fire In Accrington
Yes Less that's it.
I emailed Greg earlier and mentioned the involvement in the Tremellen St fire of the crews we are in danger of losing. The fact that lives were not saved on this occasion is no reflection on the crews involved but if we lose them then we also are in danger of losing lives they might have been able to save. Just my opinion but I felt it was worth sharing. |

Re: Tragic House Fire In Accrington
I emailed Greg Pope (our MP) and had a reply from him in which he said it wasn't the retained crew which is why I queried the post here.
He has recently addressed the problem in the HoC and says it wouldn't be appropriate to use this tragedy to make a further point - which I can understand. |
Re: Tragic House Fire In Accrington
Shocking news and that poor lad has to realise that his father has died too in hospital

It is not appropriate to cut life saving services and expect that the remaining services would cope. These are people's lives, our lives..... Are we not worth the best possible services??? I know that the best is not always the biggest but I'm sick and tired of being told that we have to downsize, reorganise, work smarter, work harder and achieve more... How many more tragedies does there have to be before this government realises that changes to essential services are not always for the best, are not always thoroughly evaluated and are rarely cost effective.. Although it is inappropriate to use tragic incidents to demonstrate a service, sometimes it is very necessary in order to prove a point. |
Re: Tragic House Fire In Accrington
Probably the timing would be bad.
He has already raised the issue prevously. I get the impression he's still very much interested in the topic. |
Re: Tragic House Fire In Accrington
I've just seen the funeral cortege going past mast my house. It was the sadest thing i've ever seen. No photographs though, i felt it would be distasteful & disrespectful.

I wish I could find the right words to say. I just feel so for Adam with all he has gone through. He looked so frail. Such a very, very sad time for all who knew them and the remaining family. :(

Re: Tragic House Fire In Accrington
I watched him reading a statement last night on the news, I felt sooo bloody sorry for that poor lad. I did notice though that the man next to him must have been his mothers brother, because he was spitting image of Caneze..:o

Re: Tragic House Fire In Accrington
In Loving Memory of Sayrah and Sophia Riaz, their Mother Caneze and their sisters Alisha and Hannah If tears could build a stairway, And memories were a lane. I would walk right up to heaven, To bring you home again. No farewell words were spoken, No time to say good-bye. You were gone before I knew it, And only God knows why. Unknown Author Sura (chapter) 2:82:"But those who have faith and work righteousness, they are companions of the Garden: Therein shall they abide (For ever)." To Adam You are in our thoughts, our hearts and prayers. No words can express our sorrow. Always know that you have friends who care Whilst your family are watching over you. |
