Waiting in for Nowt!
Dont you just love it that companies think people have nowt better to do than wait in......for nowt. Supposed to have had my meter changed this morning, so i wait patiently [patience not my strong point!], time elapses, so i ring the eleccy company only to discover that the job hadnt been booked with the meter firm only with my account:mad:
So waited in for nowt when i could of put my time to better use, well i complained with regard to that, so now my meter change is put back another fortnight of high un neccessary charges in eleccy cos of someone elses mess up, hopefully they will compensate for the error - will beleive it when i see it!:mad: Now i know why i hate waiting in for things grrr:mad: |

Well funny you should say this i had a letter from British gas they want to change my gas meter .
They said it was just to update it to a more modern meter and are coming on the 15th feb get this between 8am and 8pm and someone has to be in all day, all i can say is they had better come on that date:D they said it would only take 30 mins too , we will see |

argos are just as bad if not worse
i paid for delivery of an item and booked a day off work to wait in for it and it never showed after much argueing on teh phone i got argos to agree that they shoud compensate me a days wages/holiday that i wasted waitingt in for them but it never turned up and after hours on teh phone it was cheaper just to give up a friend of mine got a glass top table from argos and they delivered it without the glass top assuring him that it would follow asap , 4 months later the table top still had still not turned up and argos had teh cheeck to say he coulnt return it as he had had it too long lol |

I need to have my lecy meter change but there is an argument over who has the key for the box outside Scottish Power or the flippin council. I landed back today to a letter that said they would force entry as the meter change is a legal requirement. Now it aint my job to chase these plonkers but I am in the firing line and the answers I got about the keys if the right one is "if you can tell us when the meter is being changed we will be there and see if the key works" thats ok in theory but as others have said its 8 am to 8pm. The best I can ever get out of them due to shifts is 8 till 1 or 4 till 8 so cant win.
So much for customer service!!! |

Gas board changed mine last Fiday as has been said the letter quotes"The work will be carried out between 8am and 5pm", it was, door opened 7.00am job started 4.15pm, I wasn't going anywhere, an odd one out, but these people must think our time is worthless and their time priceless! The meters are for mutual benefit not just yours, with lines of communication as good as we now have 8 hours is an unacceptable waste of time and money, just to save one party money.

Well i just rang them to find out what the hell went wrong was told its not the gas company changing it but united utilities so i rang them and they said they had been but nobody was in:mad: i told them i stopped in all day and nobody called he said they did call and do i have a red door er NO i dont have a red door its wood colour Ho he must have gone to the wrong house,
i said yes he must :mad: so now they are going to come on the 27th 8am to 12 noon this time but will ring when they are on there way . well if i am in they can change the meter if not then they will have to call back again but i am not waiting in for them |

Oh gawd i've got all this to come again on tues with meter man [so hope they get it right as got docs appointment in afternoon & i definately booked morning :eek:, whats betting its afternoon.

I'd phone them back Mick the department that sent the letter will be different to the call centre, its unreasonable for them to expect you to wait in from 8am-8pm again.

I reckon they dont orginise these things by area but by telling the workman that he has x ammount to do and that they are spread all over the place. Wonder how they would take it if having a bill I said I will pay it between Feb and June this year?

Was u given a freephone number so u could check that United Utilities were coming? The bloody number i was given is obviously not the right one more like the Natwest insurance helpline in Chissington apparently:o I've got an awful feeling these twerps are thinking im booked for waiting in all day not 8am -1pm, i've to go docs this afternoon & other stuff |

the number for united utilities is 0845 050 1268 these are the people that change and check your meters |

Mel aint the only one peeved at em. I fired of an email after a no show dictatating my terms and gave them a 2 hour window for both day and back shifts. Suprise suprise I aint had an answer yet. Maybe I should have asked for a Saturday visit when I wasnt working.

I am waiting for a bunch of twallies at OnStream to get themselves orginised. Working shifts is a pain and I cant get anymore time of work or a 12 hour house sitter. So they will have to do the following 8am -10 am if I am backshift 6pm - 8 pm if I am backshift due to working 12 hours as of next week. Lets see how they like some pressure. :D

True spuggie, like i explained to this manager is the fact that people have got lives [oh well time not wasted on them lol] that we have got better things to do with our time than wait for things not to turn up!! I said to him he wouldnt like it as wouldnt anyone else & the fact that they arrange these appointments with the customer then it should be done proper & adhered to!!

Dont bother about United Utilities - they are a waste of space. When mum died - i rang them up and explained that my mum had died and that i needed the name changing to mine and i needed a new payment card. That was in March last year. I got a new bill with my name on it in June. Since then i've written to them, emailed them and i've rang them numerous times and still not got a payment card. By the way one time i rang them they said i couldnt have a payment card because i didnt have a gas/electric bill with my name on it. I said well seeing as all the bills were in my mums name and that i havent had a bill since swapping them over then i wont have will i. How does a new customer who has only just bought a house go on then?
Im still angry now. And guess what i've just got my water bill for next year!!! |

Well i havent heard anything yet with regard to my meter change that got messed up, as assured by the manager of N power. I have just drafted out my complaint email & if nothing today then it will be sent later, also will be in touch with offgem & pursuit of compensation & over charges!! I've had enough of being messed about :(

Well well still no phone call - they have had 48hrs to sort out a re-arrangement of meter booking & still i've heard nothing - so BOOM goes my complaint email to the manager sent now!!

Well my saga is still that no other appointment has been made nor have they contacted me regarding meter change its been 7 days since, in meantime im still paying high rate leccy - which for the 1st time didnt last long & had to do an emergency shop run for leccy:angry: I've a feeling offgem is going to get involved in this by friday when i take it further after giving them enough chance!! |

LOL! Well he's just turned up but was given the wrong information. He was told it was exchanging a 2 Rate meter for another 2 Rate meter, so he has to come back ..... :rofl38: Useless I tell ya :rolleyes:

Got hit with this today while waiting for the braodband installers to arrive. I was assured they'd be here by 9 a.m. because I was the first appointment of the day. Then it was between 9 and noon. They arrived at 12:30 finished up at 2:30. The worst thing is them not calling to state they would be late. Most of a whole day wasted!

Well a very nice man came from Unitied Utilities to change my electric card meter which was not reading the cards so i could not put money on the meter,
today as they said they would, on time too. i had about 6 cards with money on by the meter. he changed the meter but its a electronic key not another card meter this time ,so i asked him about the cards he said it had nothing to do with them and i would have to get in touch with the supplier . Then he said how much is on the cards i said about £15 he said well ring them and they will send a cheque now on the old meter we where down to about 60p on the emergancy anyway he showed me how to use the new key and told me where to get them charged . as he was leaving he turned to me and said you wont need to buy electric for a while . i looked at him:confused: he just smiled and left i went to check the meter and we not only had full emergancy electric but he had also put £20 on the meter for me.:D what a nice man :D |

Well my complaint paid off got a nice unexpected surprise first thing this morning [was not told or notified - must be new tactic to avoid waiting in for nowt lol]............UNITED UTILITIES!!!!!! Just had my long awaited meter change........... &..... i got better than i bargained for not only have i gone from econ 2 split charge pre payment meter......but instead of a rate 1 pre payment meter...............EVEN BETTER I got a proper normal bill meter :eek: so wayhey no running out of leccy & cheaper, so no need for this new pre payment card now, & already put £5 credit towards it anyway as left on old meter:D So now to get a swipe payment card now & cancel offgem. |

OhOh UU are in trouble now:(
They were supposed to put a pre payment one in:eek: LOL Ah well good news i can keep the meter as im happy with it [they are not but tough hehehehehe] will get my new bill details within 14days with all alterations of credit & reimbursements which i kindly reminded them of:D They take my debit card & its bill 3 mnthly also I WONT get charged for standing charge that pre payment meters charge every week - so £1.50 p/week saved, so should be a lot cheaper:D:D:D This this problem has been resolved:D |
