It wasn't a Lada taxi was it willow their a bit iffy, or it may have been used for 'Ugandan' purposes I believe they use them for that purpose in Blackburn on a regular basis, hence the rocky seats.

It was the front passenger seat - kids were all in the back.

I know a bit about taxi's...............but fastening the driver to the floor is a bit harsh, a taxi driver is for life- not just christmas

OMG my wit kills me....it really does

jsut an after tought

whe we went to war with iraq and petrol shot up about 10p per liter the minimum taxi fare jumped up 50p to cover teh cost

not so long ago petrol dropped up to 10p per liter yet taxi fares didnt drop

so with all teh extra proffit there shoudnt realy be any excuse for not having a taxi in road worthy condition

Re: 3 in 4 taxis not roadworthy in hyndburn

Taxis should have to go to a Government controlled testing station, what's to stop the owners swopping tyres off another taxi that has just passed its 'mot', why do they have nearly all the same cars? in the old days my mate 'Crammed Jack' used to say they had one they they used for test purposes only, he said they changed all the ID plates off another car, mind you he were a bit of a cynic were 'Crammed Jack'.

Re: 3 in 4 taxis not roadworthy in hyndburn

I live next door to a taxi driver and we have spoke about this plenty of times. He can go to a number a of gerages he knows of in accy to get an mot for any car and it will cost him nothing. They dont even see the car. He knows of lots of taxis that are nothing more than rust buckets. he drives a new red ford mondeo so if you want a good taxi look out for it lol
