Re: Phone laws 'ignored' by drivers
Last sat on the way to the Accyweb meet i got a taxi on the way the driver was driving with no hands on the wheel while shouting out the window to a mate he had spotted then he took his mobile out and again with both hands off the wheel started to phone the bloke he had just seen he was shouting down the phone at the top of his voice while looking round through the rear window for his mate to come back they then drove to my destination side by side down the main road talking all the way.
i will not be using that firm again |

It is not so much tougher laws that are needed but the means of enforcing them without taking those resources away from something else. |

How did you manage to get a lift? Normally its only when you have been naughty do they give you a lift. Mind you its usually to the station. As for him chancing the offender quite right that person could have caused an accident. Never mind 3 points I agree they should be treated like drunk drivers. The wife of a friend of mine had a habit of phoning when he was driving and he ignored it until one day after a bad shift he had me hold the phone on speaker while he read her the riot act about it. Sufice to say she hasnt done it since esp as I was there an heard it all and has been very meek since because of it and somewhat embarresed. |

Re: Phone laws 'ignored' by drivers
For the same reason (safety) I never use a car radio, and if I have passengers I tell them not to expect much in the way of conversation whilst I am driving. Any distraction increases risk.

Re: Phone laws 'ignored' by drivers
Are these laws in force all over Britain? Or are they more local? In Canada we don't have any laws against using cell phones while driving. However, the coppers can fine a driver for careless driving, or driving without due care and attention.
