Phone laws 'ignored' by drivers
Drivers in Lancashire are continuing to use their mobile phones while at the wheel
A total of 942 motorists were prosecuted in Lancashire between February and May!! im always seeing idiots using thier phone, one nearly crashed into us, and yes it was a stupid woman!! do these people realise how dangerous it is,?.....I guess not! tougher laws are needed!! |
Re: Phone laws 'ignored' by drivers
Not only stupid women use their mobiles whilst driving, I see loads of male delivery drivers using them. most of the time the police don't do anything about it.

Re: Phone laws 'ignored' by drivers
they should take there cars of them for 1 month 1st time they get caught then two months second time and they pay all costs that will make them think

Re: Phone laws 'ignored' by drivers
gotta say dont think this laws made a blind bit of differance, see many daily n would say in fairness mostly men, that to me says 1 thing only- the penalties not severe enough.

Re: Phone laws 'ignored' by drivers
ban them!and make them pay more on insurance if they get caught like they do with drink drivers.but i think drink drivers shud be banned 4 life,

Re: Phone laws 'ignored' by drivers
Superglue coconuts to their ears (hollowed out and halved, not whole ones), so we can easily identify them, plus they won't be able to use their phones anyway because they won't be able to hear.:D

Re: Phone laws 'ignored' by drivers
its the fact that ppl know that the police aint gonna waste their time unless specifically designated on the task on stoppin some guy on his fone and then having to deal with the paperwork

Re: Phone laws 'ignored' by drivers
I was getting a lift home from a police man a while ago in his nice blue van when he saw someone speaking on the phone whilst driving - he screeched the van to stop and pointing at the driver said, 'three points and a fine, get out' - at which point I had to leap out of the van whilst he spun it round to chase the offending person.
Up until that point I didn't think they were really bothered about enforcing this law. |
Re: Phone laws 'ignored' by drivers
We have had seat belt laws for just short of 25 years now and that law is often blatantly broken and the police do very lttle.

Re: Phone laws 'ignored' by drivers
There is never any enforcement. I'd advocate taking the step of confiscating the phone - the message would get through pretty quickly.
