Another terrible crime...another totally inadequate sentence...seems like we've been here before, many times.

How long before the silent majority in this country tell the politicians with one voice, "forget about the do-gooders, listen to US and crack down on the criminals...hard!"

Not much chance of that since the way the law is structured the aledged perpitrator has my rights than the victims. Its bonkers because whatever party gets in they will not uphold any pledge on this in my view huge and important issue.

If he was imprisoned by them and was epileptic and he had no access to his medication then to me that is deliberate and intentional therefore is murder. If he was free he would be taking his medication and therefore more likely to survive an attack.

I wonder if these 'people' were smacked as children?

If they were, they weren't smacked hard enough.

Spot on Spuggie. They were the direct cause of his death no two ways about it as far as I can see.

Aren't people who were abused more likely to become abusers - so suspect they might have been smacked a bit too much.

I don't think smacking is abuse.

dont agree with that at all, big differance between a smack n a hiding, no wonder societys gone to pot. sometimes a smack is necessary even though it hurts you more n them.

Oh now come on you namby pamby crowd, obviously he is the exact example, he obviously deserved what he got but the administrators of this punishment have been given a raw deal, or have I been wrong all my life?

When will those of you that are against Capital Punishment admit that there are some people that can never be saved and we would be better without them?

By using the phrase 'smacked a bit too much' I was saying 'a hiding'.

Re: Sick

Quite often it's kids who have never been disciplined and who have walked all over the adults in their lives who then go on to think that they can do the same throughout their life and end up abusing others when they don't get their own way.

I would love someone to do some serious research into this. Maybe then we'd get sense at last.
