Not unless the person who did it goes and makes an offical complaint to the relevant authorities, according to the police.

The whole banner thing was a total waste of effort. If you are going to pull a stunt like this, you at least let people, or the press, know what your complaint is. Something this joker forgot to do, as we're still none the wiser.

A little bird told me he ( Dobson) " allegedly" had some business interests (pubs) which never had any problem getting late licences etc; just a rumour at the mo but it might open a few cans of worms .

It mighn't not be a bad idea if Councillor Dobson came on line and stated his case, if he has any trouble i'm sure the other Councillors on the site will enlighten him on how things 'work'.

He has posted on the Lancashire Telegraph website in response to what people have been suggesting, and his wife has posted on there too.

I disagree. It's not up to Cllr. Dobson to come on here and defend himself, it's up to the person who made the allegations to go to the authorities and make a complaint...if he/she has one.

This whispering campaign is just a cowards way of going about things.

Perhaps you could put a link.

Although, I'm with Garinda on this (see, we often agree), that if someone has some real allegations then they should formally come out with them to the relevant bodies. As it is, the banners could be the work of one disgruntled person who Cllr Dobson rubbed up the wrong way - this doesn't necessarily mean that the allegations have any truth in them. It's not for Cllr Dobson to disprove until something has been actually said for him to refute.

Thank you.

I don't know Tony Dobson, but all this stinks to me.

If someone has an issue with the man they should have the guts, and the strength of their convictions, to take it to whoever.

I could not agree more Rindy. Are you turning a little blue, this is the second Tory you have sided with in less than a week?

I have to say I concur with the majority here. If anyone has any allegations about him they should stand up and be counted or sit at the back and keep quiet.

There is nothing worse than rumourmonging without any evidence. It sounds spiteful petty and smells not a little of jealousy.
