It's a quiz, a team of five take on this team who are called The Eggheads. They are people who have been on all different quizzes and are experts, a bit like walking encyclopedias. The prize money starts at £1000 and goes up by same each time it isn't won, so it is a long time since they got beat!!:)

Its a quiz programme on B.B.C.2 every weekday night Eric,,Any team of five can enter to beat the most brainy team in the country(allegedly)they are called the Eggheads .the prize goes up £1000 each night until its won,,,:)

One of the Eggheads is Judith Keppel, the first person in the UK to win a million pounds on Who Wants To Be a Millionaire.

She's a cousin of Camilla Parker Bowles and they are both descended from Alice Keppel, who was the last and favourite mistress of Edward VII.

Sounds like a lot of fun ... (so does Alice Keppel) ... but only a 1000 pounds? That seems pretty cheap. That's only about $2000. You can do a lot better on Jeopardy. Or even on Win Ben Stein's Money. Still, sounds like a good idea for a show. I wonder why it hasn't hit North America.

It isn't really about the money, it's the prestige of trying to win against five of the supposed brainiest people in Britain.

The Eggheads have had a long unbroken run, and the prize fund now stands at £53,000, which to regular fans of the show is an unprecedented amount, and it's getting very exciting.

I 'spose. Maybe I'm getting mercenary in my dotage:D And a 100 grand isn't all that bad of a payday. And the show is probably much better than crap like The Price Is Right and Wheel of Fortune. I still watch Jeopardy every night, and somtimes Millionaire. After watching those, I don't feel guilty about tuning in to WWE, Smackdown or Raw:rolleyes:

This is one of the few things I did watch whilst I was away. I love trying to see if I can answer things the eggheads don't know. That makes me feel really brainy!
