I can agree Bernadette it must be painful for the parents to keep having to see thier girls killer on the news but this man commit a most dreadful crime so why should he be allowed to take the easy way out .. he made 2 young beautiful innocents suffer before he took thier lives and left two families to suffer for the rest of thiers ..
What i dont understand ( and i may have missed this on the news ) is how and why did he have access to enough pills to overdose on anyway?

According to the newspaper report that I read Ian Huntley is getting his medication in liquid form so that he can't save it up, but he bought some pills from other inmates....using tobacco as currency....once he had taken the said pills he went and told the prison officers what he had done......so this makes me feel he doesn't really want to die, he just wants to get some attention....and he wants to bring to the attention of the general public, just how hard the prison regime is.

I think he is a confused individual, who thinks that the general public of this country give a damn about his life and prison conditions.

Im glad he was found, taking his own life is the easy copout for him. He needs to accept that he is in there for life !

Reminds me of Fred West .... coward to the end.

didnt he go to the wardens himself sayin he'd had an overdose?

but in a way i'm glad he's trying to do this and failing. this is suffering

the fact he wants to end his life just shows how much he is suffering and its good. keep on trying and keep on failing. 60 yrs of attempted suicides isnt enough.

They should do like the Yanks and send the Nonces to major high security prisons, where they are not getting out till they are old men. That way th inmates would take care of them, if you 'ken' what I mean, and no butter on the bread.:Banane43:

If he really wanted to be dead he would be, all he is doing is making life harder for Holly and Jessica's parents. Once the spotlight is off him for any length of time he makes an attempt on his own life to get the attention again.:mad::mad::mad:

While he keeps making attempts it will be on the box. I bet a large part of the general public enjoy hearing of the suffering he is going through. If it was down to all suicide attempts being on the news it would be boring. Reminds me of the hunger strikers being on the news in the 80's and more recently Ian Brady on his so called hunger strike. When the loathed try and top them selves it is news worthy because we love to hear about it.

Ian Brady's been on hunger strike for 7 years he must be having liquid nutrition or something not sure.

If he is then he cant really want to die as he would have found a way not to be given any kind of nutrition. They cant force you to eat or drink but if he is mentally unfit then I suppose they could.

He's in Ashworth, so is supposed to be mentally unfit, load of rubbish if you ask me, should've been put in normal prison.

He wouldnt last in a normal prison. Some of the cons might succeed in puting him out of his misery. Mind you if he and Huntley passed on then it would save tax payers a few bob.

at least with fred west and harold shipman,had the guts to do the decent thing and not waste taxpayers money keeping them for 25+years, huntley is a spineless piece of ****e who deserves to be done in,and if he was in a normal prison it would,nt take long, peter sutcliffe has been blinded in one eye and lost the other through prison retribution and also has a 6" scar on his face were he got done with a modelling knife, in prison justice is swift and very effective,faking mental illness is a cowards way to buck the system,its a pity that they dont declare him insane then they could send him to RAMPTON which has the highest suicide rate in any of britains prisons, but here,s hoping

HMP Wakefield was originally built as a house of correction in 1594. Its long and illustrious history has been documented in a superb publication called ‘Round the Mulberry Bush' written by a previous governor.

has anyone ever been past Wakefield prison? i have, its actually in the center of Wakefield with many many houses around it, convicts have escaped from prison before today, can you imagine if he escaped? i dont agree with prisons being built in areas which are surrounded by houses, they should be built in deserted areas away from the 'normal' world
