Lazy Binmen
i live on a small cul-de-sac and every bin day sure enough all the residents put out their bins, facing the right way, on the curb etc as instructed, then about an hour before the bin wagon arrives a man who i can only describe his job as being a `fluffer`(now thats a term for you to look up!) lol, collects all the bins together and dumps them at the end of my drive totally blocking it, obviously so the hard working binmen have less ground to cover, the bins are then dumped back in front of my drive and are left there for the rest of the day. how annoying.i remember once of a day binmen had to collect the bin from where ever it was.. down you`re drive, back yard etc and they would even take black bags....wow, they are payed to move wheelie bins , i am not so i`ll be on the phone to get this obstruction moved.:mad:i know i might sound like a grumpy sod but well i suppose i am......do you`re job binmen!!

Re: Lazy Binmen
pipinfort i dont think yer a grumpy sod, had a problem with the binmen re-wheely bins,a couple of months ago, they left next doors wheely in front of mine, so i moved next doors into the back n got mine, was just putting it in the yard n a real nasty piece of work (bin man) shouted at me not to leave a bin in back, as i had intended to put it back in front of next doors, i gave him a real gobfull n said words to the effect that i was n if he didnt shut it i would,:D that is more grumpy i think than you could ever be.;)

and they`ve refused to take my sister in laws cardboard today because its neatly bundled up in a black bag!!!! WHAT??? who do they think they are?

Re: Lazy Binmen
I often have to play hunt the wheelie bin on bin day because ours can end up being left anywhere after they've emptied it.

Re: Lazy Binmen
You lot really need to get yourselves a council leader living in your neighbourhood.:D
As I've said many times, backed up by Neil, the collection servive in Ossy can't be faulted, and they even send a man round the next day to sweep up any stray rubbish, and bins are always returned to where they were left. |
Re: Lazy Binmen
Mine isn't. I keep it by the front door of the stairwell (flats).
My bin never gets more than a quarter full, so I don't always drag it to the roadside verge for emptying, but the binman does, and then I have to drag it back, because he doesn't put it back where he got it from. I'm not complaining - not much effort needed |
Re: Lazy Binmen
my bin is taken from the back gate, the bin men are always friendly (i am usually stood out side having a fag) i always get my bin back and my recycling bags are put on my door handle... i have no problems with my bin men

Re: Lazy Binmen
i too have never had any complaints with the bin men. i think they have quite a hard kob and there just trying to get on with it.

Re: Lazy Binmen
It's nowhere near as hard a job as it was in the days of metal bins full of ashes which had to be lifted and tipped manually into the truck. It's a doddle these days in comparison.

How can wheeling a few bin's about be classed as hard work? It was harder work when they had black bags to carry about. |
Re: Lazy Binmen
its not exactly a fun job tho is it? i feel sorry for the guy up at the tip that has to root round other peoples rubbish to make sure its in the right place... he must smell great at the end of the day...

Re: Lazy Binmen
No job can ever be as hard as mining coal - which many of the last generation did.
Whenever I hear a man complain about his job I often reply 'better than working in the pit' |
