Maybe she would have done if the school had been a little more sensible in how they dealt with it rather than keeping the lad in isolation and then excluding him for a day as if he had some dreaded contagious disease.

I reckon this lad was probably showing off with it anyway, (probably pretending it was potent) and caused another lad to snitch on him.

Anyway, we are never going to agree on this point, and I believe that parents should support the schools as much as possible and try and come to some sort of understanding of what happened, instead of reporting them to the media, even if she did state she 'complied'.

That is so true, Katex. Parents should support the school. After all, we should be aiming for the same end result.....considerate, happy, balanced, well educated, responsible adults.

Oh! so right, back to the good old days of when what teacher says or does is correct,
no questions asked after all you were educated by them so you can't know as much or more than them and when your child comes home saying my bum hurts........

where is that rug we should sweep things under.

If teachers can get away playing god with the little things they will soon attempt to be better than that and you will have no say whatsoever, but then in some cases perhaps for the best!

I started something with this one didnt i?

Think the school should have just rang his mum and said it was not a suitable drink and not to send him with it in future.

The only thing ive got to ask though if there is a zero tolerance to alcohol in the school what happens when they have a fair, and there is a raffle and a prize of a bottle of whisky or wine? What happens when its the teachers last day of the year or xmas do they take a bottle of wine in to celebrate after the kids have gone home?
