Re: Time machine.
I'd like to travel back to the 20s and met my Fathers Father, he died in 1934 as a result of being gased in the Great War, I have seen photos of him, but it would be good to see him for real

I wouldent mind going back to Little House on the Prairie days...
I know its only a tele programme ,but i would quite fancy living like that.... Mrs olson had quite a good life...but i think i might be a bit nicer than she was..:D |
Re: Time machine.
To be fair i don`t think i`d go anywhere for the moment, never been as happy and content but ask me again in a few years when the girls have grown up and i`ll probably want to come back to today when the kids are little and not giving me the teenage problems i`m expecting!!

I'd like to go back to 1940, on a nice sunny summer's day (difficult on your side of the pond, I know) lie on my back in a field, have a cold beer, smoke a doobie, and watch the Battle of Britain taking place overhead.:alright:
Weird, eh;) |

Watch young men, some not long out of school, fighting for their lives? Watch aircraft, with crew inside, spiral to the ground and explode? Watch burning pilots trying to control burning planes before they crash? The Battle of Britain sounds romantic and heroic but it was the same old bloodbath as every other battle. |

Re: Time machine.
What a shame we can't change history at the same time, I'd go back to the orchard and catch the apple that was about to hit Isaac Newton, that would ruin his inspiration!
Then as I was walking away merrily chewing on the apple, I'd turnaround and say, "No knighthood for you sunshine, you'll still be plain Mr. Newton", But I would be the hero of all those people that had to sit through hours and hours of the maths teacher telling us all about inertia and everything else he complicated our lives with! :D |
Re: Time machine.

Re: Time machine.
To go back and watch the battle of Roarks Drift and see if the survivors really did sing 'Men of Harlech/Land of our Fathers' as the Zulus saluted them (think not) ;)
To go back , and sit on the grassy knoll in Dallas on the day JFK was shot and try to see from which direction the bullets actually came from. To go back and watch the football game on no-mans land between the British, French and German troops during the 1914 Christmas day truce. |
Re: Time machine.
I would go back to school and pay more attention to what the teachers were trying to get into my skull...I would learn more, daydream and window gaze less.
