Crewe and Nantwich

Gwyneth Dunwoody sadly died on the 17th April 2008 which has resulted in a by election for Crewe and Nantwich.

Her daughter is running in her place for Labour, while the Conservatives have Edward Timpson and the Lib Dems Elizabeth Shenton. Although apparently the Lib Dems have practically given up and are focusing on Boris Johnsons seat now that he has become the new Mayor of London.

So your resident pollster is here to get your views. :D I'll include every candidate up for election so I can't be accused of not putting 'others' :p

Re: Crewe and Nantwich

Perhaps if you included current majority so we can see how 'close' a seat it really is.

Re: Crewe and Nantwich

2005 results were:

Labour: 21240
Conservative: 14162
Liberal Democrats: 8083

I should have made the vote public, who the heck thinks the monster raving loony party will win?

Is this a variation on the grand national betting thread?

Me...as a paid-up member of said party, I am confident that we will march onwards to victory, claiming our first ever parliamentary seat! :D

Re: Crewe and Nantwich

So a turn of 3.5K labour voters needed to snatch victory. Definately achievable if the candidate has an ounce of credibility.

Re: Crewe and Nantwich

It's achievable, but it would require a big swing.

No need for me to be there. Our glorious leader Howlin' Laud Hope will be giving Nick the Brick all the support he needs to achieve electoral triumph. My thoughts, of course, will be with them as I raise a pint or two of foaming Black Sheep bitter to my lips!

Has this got anything to do with Accy? Bit random isn't it Cyfr mate? Am I missing something?

Current affairs, I know its Accringtonweb but it doesn't necessarily have to be directly Accrington related does it?

Although saying that it does have national implications 'mood of the moment' kinda thing.
