Far more important than that, why have you changed your name?

Ah! I get it now, it's all part of the touchy-feely, hug a hoodie approach, as pioneered by the boy David!

Are you joking? I don't read anything these days apart from Mad magazine and Playboy. However, I take your point and I shall rephrase my statement accordingly. Cyfr has changed his name to Andrewb because he feels it epitomises the more caring, human face of modern, progressive Conservatism...a brand of Conservatism that is at ease with both itself and the contemporary world...a brand of Conservatism that places an emphasis on cultural diversity and environmental integrity...crikey, Cyfr, I could be a scriptwriter for your mob!

I asked to change my name soon after I joined (Google autofill had messed mine up) and was told that I would lose the record of all my posting ie - a fresh start completely would happen - so how did he manage it?
If you are reading this mod Mick- I want to be Margaret R

You could, but my name change wasn't for political reasons. I picked Cyfr when I was young. Since I've made no attempt to hide who I am, I see no point in having some kind of 'code' nickname.

I guess its the same as people who make stupid e-mail addresses when they're young, and feel a bit daft when they're older.
