Bay horse???................oh god, no thanks

I used to love a night out round the pubs in Ossy. It's abysmal these days. I don't go half as much as I used to because it's dead. :(

We never had any trouble before the smoking ban. There were plenty of pubs and it was a good night. You go in one of the few pubs left on some nights now and apart from a couple of old men with dribble hanging out of their mouths there's no-one in. :(

My dad always said how busy Accrington used to be. How people would come from all over, Burnley etc just to be here on a Sunday night. I can't imagine it!

They can close all the pubs for all I care. I don’t need alcohol to live.

But unlike the holier than thou anti-smoking brigade who in their selfish arrogance pushed for and got smoking banned in enclosed public spaces, whilst driving around and polluting the atmosphere in their cars, I believe in live and let live as for as booze is concerned.

I won’t shed any tears for the closure of a pub, but I won’t rejoice either.

It would be poetic justice if all pubs, clubs etc were closed, although like in the smokers’ case many innocent people would get caught up in the issue.

However much I would like to completely blame the smoking ban, you cant. Who needs blaming is Supermarkets & the breweries. I have no sympathy for any brewery that struggles or goes under at the moment. Its the tenants in the pub that deserve the sympathy.

The breweries will do nothing to help there tennants, rents are shockingly high as are beer prices, and the fact that the pubs are tied to the breweries to buy their beer off them.

Oh whilst i'm blaming people let me mention Sky TV also!!
