ok mate,ya been away too long.;) a dingle is the name of a family of serious "Thickos" on a british soap, this name was adopted many years ago as a descripton fer "Burnley" fans, n true to the meaning, most of em are happy with it.:D:D:D:D hope that helps.;)

Not exclusive though Mr C. West Brom call Wolves fans Dingles, and my daughter mentioned another team the other day who also call their rivals Dingles, I'll have to ask her when she gets home from school. Of course we know the term is an affectionate one given to us by a club whose fans are also affectionately known by us as all being fatherless :D

theres only more, cos the sensible dingles (there are a couple) have passed the knowledge on, hence attempting to give the impression it aint just burnley, but we know the truth.:D;):hidewall:

I think the real give away is that good old Zac is a native (native being the operative word) of Burnley, and Dingles can regularly be heard singing No Nay Never,whilst waving six fingers at the ladies and gentlemen down at Ewood. The latest Dingle trend is the dropping of trousers in Burnley Town Centre and displaying a new rang of red underwear, in homage of one of their elderly statesmen, who has not changed his undies since the start of the season, an example of which can be seen on Lancsdaves avatar:D:hehetable
