Sorry Neil, this was in reference to Less's comment on the people employing benefit cheats. They should be prosecuted too, not just the person on benefits

Benefit cheats tend to be liars as well, it's kind of part of their agenda. What makes you think they're going to be honest on their applications or to their employers and say 'I'm on benefits'

You've a lot to learn blazey, there are unscruplous bosses that will only employ people on benefits or illegal immigrants, cash in the hand for a days work, no holiday pay, national insurance no nothing, you only have to remember the Morecambe bay Cockling incident a few years ago, which was a prime example

I've actually worked cash in hand, but this is a different crime altogether. I got the impression that these people should be done for cheating the benefit system, not the tax system.

It depends on your views. Some people oppose the taxation system simply because they think everyone deserves to keep every penny of what they earned. The benefit system is taking money you haven't earned.

You'll find more people justify cheating tax than cheating the benefit system. It's like tv licensing in the other thread. People pay it but you get many who don't think that they should, and many don't. Most people don't kick up a fuss about them in the same way they do about benefit cheats though.

To be fair, I could justify a few people cheating both systems in a few circumstances, because I know a lot of statistics in this area from studying EU law, social policy and citizenship this year as part of my degree. It is the same with immigration, I could justify some and not others. And it is all very subjective.

People working in the Black Market industries cost his country Billions of pounds every year, well that maybe acceptable to you, but it certainly isn't to me:(
