Me too Kate........I thought he was quite a bit older than that.
Must've had a bad paper round, uphill bothways, two bags and no bike.

As for the comment on having someone local....I would like someone local too, but someone with more credibility, and someone who is honest.

Not that I am casting aspersions, you understand.

I also feel he wont be the one chosen., I have have a feeling who will be though, lets wait and see.

I remember his epistles to the Observer in the mid eighties, stating that A.I.D.S. was God's punishment, to purge the world of homosexuals.

He's been strangely silent on that subject of late.

I for one would love to hear his explanation of the deaths of hundreds of African children every day, because of H.I.V., and that female homosexuals are the least affected group on the planet, when it comes to this disease.

Someone who definitely won't be getting my vote.

If Jesus, the meek and mild, protector of innocent suffering children, does make a return visit before the next election, I suspect he won't be voting for Mr. Logan either.

Re: Britcliffe wants to stand as our M.P.

A senior Conservative told me the candidates were as follows

MEP Robert Atkins son
Janet Storey (Clayton Councillor)
Karim MEP
A couple of other A-List outsiders from Cheshire/region and a southerner.

Could The Leader confirm I wonder if he sent the list back several times because his name was not on it?

Since the MP's scandal Mr Cameron has re-opened all lists but I still feel Councillor Britcliffe was excluded as past sell by date IMO and we may see an imposed candidate from outside.

Labour will decide in the next 8 weeks. A NEC decision is expected on the 8 July on the democratic process I believe. Then people will have a chance to put their names on the selection list which will go to each ward/branch to shortlist for interview. It should be pretty quick.

I'm nearly sure he served on Blackburn Council, when he first went to live there Bernard, if he didn't think he may have stood and didn't win
