Re: smoking in the car with kids
i didnt think polystyrene tiles were legal these days on rented property because of been a fire hazzard
im %100 sure my friends mortgage provider wouldnt complete until polystyrene tiles had been removed from one of the bedrooms |
Re: smoking in the car with kids
They may well be acoustic tiles - very different - and ideal in flats full of young people

I believe they are legally required to contain fire retardant chemicals as they are obviously a HUGE fire risk, particularly when idiots paint them (probably a good thing students aren't allowed to decorate after all!) I have no idea though to be honest. Landlord and tenancy isn't something I know much about. Obviously University accommodation is checked by the fire department regularly though so I think if they were breaking the law then the fire dept. would have noticed by now. |
Re: smoking in the car with kids
well i have been and stayed in many student accomodation places and can quite safely say the majority would be crap holes wether or not anyone smoked in them lol
unless teenage kids away from home getting wasted have changed their living habbits that is :D |
Re: smoking in the car with kids
And they're definitely not acoustic tiles.

Re: smoking in the car with kids
And most of Lancaster's accommodation is extremely good but I live in the old blocks from the 70's because it's about £20 a week cheaper.

Re: smoking in the car with kids
It's not polystyrene, though polystyrene tiles are still for sale in B&Q. It's some form of cardboardy type stuff. I'll have a go at setting a bit on fire.

Re: smoking in the car with kids

Re: smoking in the car with kids
That sounds like the acoustic tiles I mentioned earlier.
I am familiar with them because they are commonly used in suspended ceilings (were installed in the public building I was in charge of looking after at one time) |
