Free parking at Supermarkets to be scrapped

Free parking at supermarkets, garden centres and DIY stores is to be scrapped under a Conservative government ...David Cameron claims it would help the environment because shoppers would ditch their car and use public transport.
I was wondering when Cameron last lugged loads of shopping bags on the bus back to his house :D...

The best bit "The idea is the latest policy to emerge from the Tories' Quality of Life group, headed by millionaire eco-warrior Zac Goldsmith and former Environment Secretary John Gummer.
John Gummer...he's back...the bloke who shoved a beefburger into his 5yr old daughters gob claiming there was no such thing as BSE in beef... the man should be in prison yet he is a policy maker for the next Tory Government.

Probably think it's a jolly good idea.

It's got to be, if it's offical party line.

Though their opinion may be swayed because most of them aren't allowed to drive because of them being 'a bit slow', which affects reaction times etc.

Maybe.

They might even give them 'special' cars, that have been 'specially' adapted to run on cheap 'special' fuel, which allows them to do 500 miles per gallon.

Cor blimey guv'nor, your honest to goodness working class, blinding loyal, Tory foot solidiers.

God bless 'em.

Raising money, licking envelopes, doffing their caps to their betters, and those higher up in the party hierarchy.

Ya gotta love 'em.

Well, just as soon as you've finished laughing at 'em.

Can't see where it's Conservative party policy. If it was I wouldn't agree with it. To me it looks like a report to the Conservatives (from 2007) which I assume has been rejected.

2 years ago he passed comment on it? I am sure we can fid equally 'silly' suggestions knocking around Labour back benchers/ministers opinions if I could be bothered to look. As it is I'll look forward not back and see what policies that are part of teh manifestos that we will actually be voting on.

I too wouldn't agree and not for any selfish reasons. some people do need transport to shop however it would push a lot more to do online shopping which is much more environmentally friendly ( 1 van delivering 20 peoples in a 10 mile journey as opposed to 20 cars making a 4 mile round trip each. )
