I hate it when I hear my lad say "go fry your head" grrrr (Obviously not to me or he,d get a thick ear) lol!!

Squaddie talk really irritates me at times and gawd knows where they come up with them .

Does it mean that if they don't use this as a prefix to a sentence they are or would usually be lying?

It means a lie would be more appealing in the situation but an honest opinion ought to be given regardless.

One of the things I know that I do a lot is say 'obviously' as if everyone shares my exact knowledge. It drove an Australian friend of mine insane this year because our thought processes were so very different and he never did 'obviously' know what I was on about without a more detailed explanation of why it was obvious.
