The Commonwealth lot can vote in the parliamentary and local council elections on 6th May; for the EU lot, it's simply the latter. Here in Bangladesh West (aka Tower Hamlets) we've also got a referendum vote on a directly elected mayor (in other words, which Taliban Mullah do we want elected with executive decision powers). It's something that we natives are trying to avoid at all costs.

By the way, I was in the local swimming pool last week when I thought I saw the familiar face of one of the local MP's step into the shallow end. I swam down there, ramming speed, and gave the b*st*rd a good side kick. Unfortunately, it was not Mr George Galloway, but some French bloke - so it didn't really matter, I suppose.

Oh....that really made me chuckle....but I do wish it had been George Galloway.

What can I say that hasn't already been said? Everyone else has already pointed out the blindingly obvious flaw that we have a system on the verge of collapse because there's more coming out than going in.

I try not to think about it.

Quite right, that's the way the best politicians work.

No, not cynical, actually on the mark as many people have found out & understandably become annoyed at the Governments total disrespect & disregard for the People of the Country. Yet still they wonder why the populace are so anti Politicians ??

Labour's secret plan to lure immigrants was borderline treason – and plain stupid – Telegraph Blogs

There's definitely something very wrong when an alcoholic, smackhead convict gets 4.7m for falling out of bed.
Brain-damaged prisoner wins £4.7m compensation package to cover his rent - Telegraph
OK there may have been 'breaches of duty of care' by the prison service, but 4.7million.

Oh deary deary me, once more our infallible crime fighting heroes once again rush to the well being of the greater British Public, due to apprehending a vicious knife wielding threat to our Nation !!! (Flag waving & Fanfares please)

Express.co.uk - Home of the Daily and Sunday Express | UK News :: Man with penknife in his car is handed a criminal record

Now if only these defenders of justice had put as much effort into understanding (possibly reading about) the laws they are meant to uphold & implement, how much Police time & public money could've been saved ?? :(

http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/CrimeJus...tion/DG_078569

Crime & Justice = Knife crime = Basic rules on knives = Point 5

  • knives with folding blades, like Swiss Army knives, are not illegal as long as the blade is three inches long (7.62 cms) or less

Here in France - you want to buy CS aerosols, OK. A Samurai Sword - yes there will be a shop in the town selling them. Throwing knives, catapults, shotguns, rifle, whatever you want as long as you are a French citizen.
So if it is OK in France, which is a member of the EU, why the restrictions in UK?
