Personally I think he should have been tried on his return from Afghanistan and a ban put in place then. Yes I can understand that they need him driving for his job but to be honest I think what he has done is wrong and someone could have seriously been injured or even worse. If he,d have been tried once home from tour then he would have paid the price for his actions In any circumstance if you feel you are being tailgated is no reason to speed up no matter who,s behind you. why not let them pass. Soldier or no soldier the law is the law. |

I can't help feeling that there was an element of entrapment at work here.
Police drivers love a fast chase. They are trained for it and don't get much chance to use it. They tempted him and he fell for it. - he shouldn't have - but then, should they have created the situation? Perhaps this is why he got off lightly |
