'Allo, 'Allo mon ami - some words have crept into my vocabulary - Kronenbourg 1664, vin & cidre. They do tend to corrupt one's pronunciation.

Still got 4 bottles of Thwaites for next month and a freezer full of Holland's products. Drink German beer anyway - much cheaper in Lidl. 0.47 cents for Stupido, 0.32 cents for 4.2% sensible beer. You can take tha lad away from Accrington but you cannot take Accrington away from the lad.

Eh? I wonder what year that was? I certainly don't remember any Asian landlord or barman...Maybe Barrie was hallucinating on some of his German beer.

That was in the late '50s/early '60s. Called in one time in the late '60s when on leave in Accrington and the tiles were still there and as it was lunch time i had only had a couple of halves (of local bitter), so not hallucinating then.
