The same criteria could be used that applies to other benefits Margaret, I sure as hell think that people who are well of, or are living abroad shouldn't receive winter fuel allowance, I know of somebody who moved to the states a few years ago, but they still get this payment through a address of a relative in England, its totally wrong in my eyes

I would not apply for something that I did not need.......also inertia accounts for a lot...sometimes if folk have to do something to obtain a benefit they don't go to the trouble. Yes Cashy, I know there are folk that have much and seem to go through life with a closed fist.....they must be really sad people.

Quite agree Margaret, and unfortunately they don't all have a blue rosette pinned on their jacket as cashy seems to imply;)

Bloody Hell Eric....if our coffin dodgers got cold weather payments plus top up depending on severity( based on the Canadian winter) they'd all be getting about 30K a year.
