Yet another side effect of the EU nightmare we find ourselves in. Time for the government to call a referendum on the whole question of membership.

Some of the workers were Indian.

So does that mean we should withdraw from the Commonwealth as well?

I agree, what happened to the good old days when they were sent up chimneys or down mines. All that fresh air can't be good for them :)

Hardly. If these workers you talk about were Indian nationals, they will be subject to some form of immigration control, no matter how lax it may be.

Romanians have complete freedom of movement in every country of the EU and thus can arrive or leave this country without let or hinderance.

Why go to the expense of a referendum? the Frogs are in the E.U. n they don't give a toss, heard the Dutch are heading the same as them.

A drop in the ocean compared to the billions we hand over to an institution whose own auditors have refused to sign off its accounts for...is it 14 years running now? In fact, despite the massive cuts we're all faced with, our contribution to the EU is set to rise by almost 60% next year.

I remember reading that the top man at Fiat, who apparently had a lot of influence in the Italian Government, said something like 'I don't know why you British get so upset about EU rules! In Italy we introduce the ones we like and ignore the rest.It is easy'.The rest of Europe seem to do the same. But WE employ lots of people to enforce the curve on bananas, the length of a cucumber etc. Why?

Exactly the point I've been making, Germany are the same, it's a sad reflection on the UK Government that they won't stand for her people, disgusting & spineless.
