I wondered why the police took so long to come and defend this Christmas tree. They allowed the protesters to light a seperate fire which attracted a helicopter but no police on foot. Until the fire was moved to the base of the tree. Why the delay!

Also why did the police allow Prince Charles car to drive into that area un protected?

Its always made me wonder why people go on a demonstration with their face masked concealing their identity, to me if you want to protest be proud and stand up, don't skulk behind a mask, its like people writing letters anonymously to the press, not worth a light, if you mask your appearance your up to no good:(

Has the revolution in the air evaporated ?

According to today's Guardian , the annual British Social Attitudes survey of more than 3,500 people , conducted by the National Centre for Social Research , says that Britain today is more Thatcherite than in the 80's .

Another 18 years of it ?

I can believe the findings..but then according to the polls at the time when Thatcher was the most hated PM in history during the 80's she still won three electons for the tories.. Cameron and his multi-millionair cabinet could still pull the wool over the publics eyes.. just like that Thatcher and her wet wimps did in the 80's .;) .

the reason i believe the findings, are the society Thatcher created, having lived through it, i detest what it did.:(

If you read my quote again you will see that it was not a survey of Guardian readers and was not carried out by the Guardian .
