If she does ever pop on, it'll be nice to see her. To see her nice.

What is it with you people? Why must you take every opportunity that comes along to deride those that only sought to carry out their duties with the utmost honesty and integrity. I remain proud of my years with the Lancashire Constabulary during which time I received three commendations and a Liverpool Shipwreck and Humane Society Diploma for saving a child from drowning. If you are content to put down those whose only wish was to serve their community, then you are much lesser people than I previously gave you credit for.

Why not just say you were a bobby?

Rather than your worked involved being spat on etc?

With your powers of deduction, re: being able to spot an unemployed person at ten paces, I bet you made detective pretty sharpish.

By the way, I do know you were never in the Sex Pistols.

That's what passes for 'humour' around here.

Or used to.

Sarcasm can never be compared with humour.

The Sex Pistols made several relevant points in their time. Politicians, however refused to take note - much to their detriment.

Great, but, until you find your funny bone we'll settle for his sarcasm.

Well, what it is with this person is, having served before the Mast, then becoming a 'civvy', the world doesn't owe me anything so I don't go on about it, I'm now an ordinary pleb, just like you.

Sarcasm is subjective.

Similar to when people make gross generalisations.

;)

Yes, who actually did kill Bambi?

What were they doing in the riggin'?

Was Belsen really a gas?

Yup, they sure did make some relevant points, Sidney.

You really do put yourself above others don't you?

You did a job, the good times will have ruled out most of the bad, if not, then you take it on the chin, because like many of my friends in various forces, they had too. But they don't blame the world and everyone in it.

You win some, you lose some. It's just the way our paths through life are trodden. Some targets are their to be shot down - just take careful aim before you fire, eh!

Gosh well, is that some form of veiled threat?

Good of you to come back on and offer up such a pearl of wisdom, my life is changed now, obviously for the better.

If it's a threat, then it's aimed solely at myself. This thread seems to be getting out of hand. Don't know why I bother.

Not out of hand at all, you have your point of generalisation, others don't share it, you bother because one day, just like the rest of us, you want to be correct.
Don't give up, there is hope for us all.
