Pots & kettles, who exactly are the Americans to deride & criticize our situation ! They need to look to their own doorstep first before casting about with their "opinions".

Incidentally C'mon, you rail about the state of benefits & the NHS in UK & what the present incumbents in nr.10 are doing, at least the UK has cover. Check out the American model since you're so hot for their input, then come back to us & knock what the UK offers. ;)

Mmm,. heard on the news this morning that the policed force has achieved the 30 Million budget cuts by improving efficiency, so does this not mean that they've wasted 300 million over the last 10 years by not being challanged as to their cost?

Sometimes you need a kick up the backside to make you realise that you are wasting lots of money/resources.

Two sides to every coin and all that

There is no money left!

Even Labour accept that cuts have to be made and proposed cutting police funding by 12%. The police spending reductions under the Coalition are about 0.5% more per year than under Labour.

This notion that you can magic away the deficit and debt by cutting international aid is ludicrous. I'm not exactly a fan of how international aid money has been spent but compared to the UK's debt it's tiny.

Sometimes I actually think you live on another planet, oh well Scotland I'll give ya that, its near enough another planet, when we are trillions in debt thanks to those wonderful politicians (and I use the word politician with reservations, the jury is still out on that one) you so readily support, mentioning a referendum is laughable, in terms of money.
