True - it's more geared towards proving culpability to insurance companies.
However, when I used to have a studio, the Great Harwood webcam was hosted in my window (it's in the old town hall, now) I had three visits from the police three times to ask if incidents had been caught on the camera. One each of vandalism, vehicle theft and drunken assault. They said they would have been able to use captured video as evidence even if it was just a regular video file, because it would be treated as reliably as an "eye witness". It only serves video, doesn't store it. |
