Eric, I was much the same.
I was in awe of people like Willow and others of the time who had, what seemed to me to be cosmic post counts.
I'm still here too, and would like to think that I will be here in another ten years.....wonder what my post count will be then.

Which two?

That's the most confusing post you've put on for a while.

Just pokin' a little gentle tease at the canuck socialist and nursey anarchist rabbiting about post counts, pointing out that bean counting is a tory value :D

Re: The Tories

I like your description of me Guinness......It is something that my ex colleagues would recognise........my nursey backgtound makes the bean counting part of my make up...it is in my fibre to get the best value out of everything. That includes life.
Now I have just smashed my anarchist credentials by justifying myself! Damn and Blast :D

Sigh..now you got me on a rant ;) ...how about someone who is doubly incontinent, immobile and suffers from pressure sores (medically recommended to be moved every couple of hours) being told that she has to wear incontinence pads and can only be moved and changed 3 times a day or the catheterised 80 yr old with dementia who keeps ripping it out, allocated a couple of hours a day support...when these guys are inevitably hospitalised LCC stops paying and the NHS picks up the budget.

NHS are not equipped to deal with them, care support are not paid by LCC to give that support...people die...win/win budget wise, two less none producers.

Ain't just the tories..check out the Labour church councillors viewpoint..

Working class will ?feel brunt of cuts? in Church (From Lancashire Telegraph)

It's the old, the pensioners..they are the drain..shoot the none producing lot of them!

Labour..fix the parks..stuff the elderly and needy....Keir Hardie has turned in his grave (Cllr.Joan Smith will probably have to google that name)

Margaret Pilkington 28-02-2014 20:15

Re: The Tories

Well, weren't they talking recently of not treating the elderly if the powers that be thought they had had a good inning?
But yet when those who want to be euthanised ask for a special dispensation because their lives have no quality to them - these requests are turned down.
They will look at the elderly in terms of what value they have to society.
Well, I guess I could be considered elderly....what have I given to society. Lots, but that won't count.
I still provide a service. I look after my sick daughter and her children. Don't get me wrong I don't want any medals, but this is saving money for the country.......so would I be considered as worthless?

When people are having to work for many more years before they reach retirement the last thing they want to think is that health care provisions will be removed from them because they 'have had a good innings' or that the health care costs cannot be justified.

It is all further evidence of the moral decline of this country. And all the political parties are to blame.

Guinness we all know it aint just them, But they are in power, so therefore responsible at this moment in time, I do not need you or anyone to tell me they are all as bad.

Re: The Tories

Cashy the current incumbent inherited a whole shedload of trouble when they got elected. I don't think even they knew the enormity of it all.
It is going to take a long time to fix.
A lot of the main problems have been because successive governments have just tinkered around the edges of major problems - in the hope that it would tide them over until someone else got into power.

None of them have had the cojones to tackle the problems of the welfare state, the porous borders where we haven't got a scooby as to who is here and whether they should be.

Successive governments have spent money in the wrong places......on projects that hadn't a hope in hell of getting off the ground.

Whoever had got in after the last election had inherited a poison chalice - and I am pretty damn sure that Labour would have had to make some very radical cut to services to make ends meet - either that or continue in hock.

Shower of Fisons the lot of them. None of them are fit to run a jumble sale.

OH NO! Not another poll.
Did he tell you that he didn't have a clue in the last cabinet meeting you snook into then?

Do you even follow the debates in this thread? You are so typical of current New Labour..'sod everyone else's opinion..only my view matters, because I know more than you'...ever thought of standing in Hyndburn?

I wish you would, because then you'd stop posting nonsense, just like the rest of those incumbent councillors that can't cope with reasoned argument and prefer to post on protected blogs and twitter/facebook accounts where they can block anyone who disagrees with their half baked theories.

You know who I mean, the ones that badmouthed incumbents when they were out of power and went silent when they got in power.

Re: The Tories

Guinness, C'mon would not know a debate if it jumped up and bit him on the behind.
All he really knows is sensationalist cut and paste jobbies and pointless polls.
